Cuse's GOY

I have been teasing steelers all week, and have been somewhat fortunate in hoops so I am going to be greedy here and add on to what I have. Can't lay the pts risking a close win somehow since it will spoil my teasers as well so I am laying the ML price. I do see pitt getting this done without too much trouble so I might even look to sprinkle on an alt line... Also like I say every year... just because its playoffs/bowl season etc doesn't mean ya have to spend all your $... be smart this playoff season, and go with your gut !!

As for my thoughts on the game... Just a few weeks ago some might remember I did the exact same thing for this game (ml/tease) but played the Ravens. The tease won, but that was only 1/3 of my bet.. I really feel as though the Ravens should have won/covered that one, but shit happens. After the game I did want to have this rematch to try with the Ravens again. I do think the Ravens have a more balanced team, and actually overall if you ask me I consider them to be the better team. The problem here is I think pitt right now is just the team to beat them. While the Ravens might be the more complete team I see pitt with the bigger advantages in this.

OK last year some of you might remember me just calling out the Ravens offense. Flacco n co got really overrated, and their offense was nowhere near what people thought. Now this year... made some excellent moves in the offseason, and Boldin was definitely key. Thing is... if ya ask me..... their offense isn't all the better than it was a year before. Its better, but not as good as I thought it would be. That said Cam Cameron feels like they are finally getting to where they need to be, and that a "break-out" is right around the corner. We'll see if that happens, but against this steeler defense... with extra time to prepare... I have to say I doubt it.

3 Keys that will end up being the factor in pitt winning this game "easy".

1. Home Field

Don't need to go into this

2. Ravens lack off passing attack

Flacco and the offense just have not had the passing attack needed to win this game. Their offense relies on the run game, and some screens. Is there a better defense in the NFL against the run than pitt ??? Teams average 60 yards a GAME against them. Which is amazing seeing as their dline is not all that great. The jets did own them, but the jets also probably have the best oline in the NFL. Either way the Ravens unit doesn't come close to that. Steelers are so good against the run because they have the best linebacking corp in the NFL. Everyone knows Harrison, but it has been the emergence of Timmons inside which has sent them over the top.. Honestly he could be the best ILB this year, and without a DOUBT better than one of my favorite players of all time who will be on the opposite sideline... Ray Lewis. Timmons seems to be able to do it all which will be key to stopping the Raven rushing attack, but even better is that he will be able to help shut down Heap who is a huge part of their passing attack.

This leaves the Ravens having to rely on Boldin/mason/Hoosh who are all decent targets, but for whatever reason Flacco has never been able to prove he can get it to them consistently. Why will tomorrow be any different ??? I didn't even mention the pressure he will be under either.

3. Steelers "new" spread attack

How do the Steelers make up for their below average offensive line ? They spread em out. Just so happens that is a big key to beating the Ravens IMO... spread em OUT!!! Big Ben has been flying under the radar a bit this year, but that won't be the case tomorrow. I expect pitt to really take advantage of the Ravens in the air. Balty will get pressure, but hopefully Ben gets the ball out fast so it is not enough. Wallace has also proven to be a deep threat... problem is Ben hasn't made the most of it yet. I am hoping the extra time will fix this for a play or 2 (which will be the difference in this game). I could go on, but those are the 2 keys I see which equal a pitt win. As long as pitt WR's hold on to the ball of course...

Feel free to add any thoughts... should be a good one.

Steelers -165

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

oh oh

I need to rethink this one... I have loved balt all week long. Part of it is because they were my pick to win it all this year before the season started

i really like Pitt tomorrow too. They keep talking about how last 2 games were decided within 3 pts...but guess what....Pitt is rested, Pitt home in the playoffs great homefield and Flacco historically is bad against the Pitt D, think they win by DD

Go with your first thoughts. This game could go either way in my honest opinion. Every time I rethink a game it cost me. Go with your gut. GL

Steel said about what I was going to say. That is what I put in my sig ;) ...When I first got on the mall.. I would blind tail or change plays if someone I respected was on a play, and it cost me money at times. Now what I do instead when I find someone I respect on a side I like i might add... or if opposite I might pull back a little. I try not to blind tail or totally switch plays though... rare if I do. I am kinda in same boat as you with Ravens though...they were one of my favs as well.

No I like pitt to cover the #... I think they handle the game somewhat easy. Don't think it will be a huge blowout, but I could see them ahead by DD at some point. I used them in teasers so I have them at +4.. I wouldn't want to risk losing by playing them -3.5, if they ended up winning by 3 or less. I will just make a little less on the ML... no biggy...its a big play for me anyways. GL
