Dallas Cowboy win total

lets not get into any non sense in this thread....

As a Cowboys fan, i cant believe the win total is only 10.5 for this team. Am I missing something here? I usally dont bet on my team but im not sure i can resist. Am i being a blind homer or is there a legit reason this team could go 10-6??

All comments are appreciated

NFC east is one reason... i am not taking the win total because whatever happens I think as long as they don't take a big step back in some way they will make a move in the playoffs regardless of season wins.

what I'm really trying to figure out is if I'm being blinded by homerism or if this is a good bet

I like it as well but I think the general feeling is they could split with the NFC East teams which gives them 3 losses and they have 3 might be competitive road games against LY playoff teams (Clev, GB, Pitt). If they lost those 3 or a fluke loss somewhere else they could go 10-6. Not to mention they had a fantastic season last year and other teams may have caught up to them. How is Wade going to handle the pressure? Will TO have another big year? Can Barber carry the load? I think those are some of the questions

With that being said, I agree and I like it as well

PIt and the NFC are tough. And, as Jack said, if there is an unexpected losss to some patsy...

Barber can carry the load - even if he can't Jones can and will step in. That is not a worry at all for me...

Dallas has gotten better - especially on D, especially since that Jack @$$ R. Williams will not be playing on 3rd down.

It's a bet I'd make.

Another view of it is looking at the playoff superstition...Towards the end of the regular season they may sit players in order to preserve them for playoff picture and lose somewhat "meaningless" games towards the end.

If they are 10-4 say going into the last 2 wks...one may assume that Baltimore could be considered a "throw-away" game...and Philadelphia may be another if Philly is already "locked" in per say and both are in... save the guys for the playoff run...thereby 10-6.

Its a tough call either way. GL.

I can't imagine the rest of the NFC east would be so far behind that we would have "throw away" games. JMO.

if Dallas is 12-3 and Philadelphia is 10-5..or vice versa...both in the playoffs..but a win would not gain advantage...then it is a "throw away" game. Why take a chance and hurt ur star players vs a team who u might just face in the playoffs?

If Dallas is 12-2 or 13-1 and Phily 9-5 or 10-4 and Dallas (or vice versa) has clinched a playoff spot...why rush ur stars in vs a Baltimore game that is irrelevant?

These are "possibilities" of "throw away" games. Put ur 2nd string in and give em a chance to improve during these times...you may need them in da playoffs.

Totally agree with you Ran. Thats why a 12-3 or 10-5 scenario is possible. Which would also make irrelevant games possible.

I never play win totals, and why should I? I have been grading my NFL plays successfully for years and making hay when the big bets come in. There just are no big bets to be made in win totals. But Dallas is, I agree, very overrated because of public action. I personally think they will lose to Cleveland this Sunday, but I will be taking the 6 point to the bank, the Browns are a solid pick this week.

Sorry to bust your bubble and your team but Wade Philips and his beer can will be finished in Dallas soon. They will not make it to the the Super Bowl.
