Tough call. He earned the money, but if you pay up, the way these things usually work out, he is going to be a bust.

Jets always have trouble rewarding guys who earn raises. They are really bad at keeping their players happy.

Hi Gerk, happy NFL and Best Wishes! Broncos look in worse trouble than my Steelers.
Anyways....
Darrelle Revis is worth the money!

I'm almost tempted to make a bet with you on who has more wins, but I don't think Pittsburgh is THAT bad.....yet...

Stupid McDaniels lol

Of course, having a starting RB would bring my confidence up. Looks like this could be a repeat of 2008, when we used what...9 different guys at RB?

I don't blame Revis. He's the best cornerback in football. The most important player on the Jets. They brought in Santonio, L.T., Antonio Cromartie and Jason Taylor. Everybody else got PAID. Revis is only scheduled to make $1m this season.

The Steelers would do well to closely monitor that situation. Revis is from Aliquippa, the cradle of cornerbacks. Send your daughter to Aliquippa wearing something sexy and easy to shed, and chances are she comes back impregnated with an NFL cornerback. If she comes back.

Ultimately, Revis will leave the Jets. He's going to go somewhere. Why not home?

Get Revis on that Steelers defense with a healthy Troy Polamalu for a couple years, and it's LIGHTS OUT. Revis eliminates half the field. Polamalu kills everyone else. Coverage sacks go through the roof.

The Steelers don't usually pursue big names. Revis should be an exception. Opportunity is knocking.

gotta get paid while you can in the NFL, unless you're a QB you have a 4-5 year window of greatness

Hey Boys,

Let me first prefix by saying I know sports is a different profession then any of the ones we work in. With that said, if I went to my boss & said look, I am the best at what I do, I deserve to be paid at the elite level, he would say thanks, now go back to work. OR he would hand me my walking papers & I would be on the unemployment line.

In sports, they can say what they want, not honour their agreement & thats ok and accepted. Even though contracts aren't guarenteed, so he has every right to, which is fine, but when is a mans word enough?
