defense wins championships

still true or a thing of the past in the nfl?

cause it sure seems like "superstar qbs win championships" nowadays.

its equally as important as it was in the past

you need to be balanced defensively but lean to pass defense as slightly more important than run defense

only difference

how many average qb/great defense combos have won super bowls in the last 15 years? how many in the 15 years before that?

add to ravens, brad johnson and the bucs imo

that group, the bucs defense was always great

but they put it in another gear after they lost to the steelers towards the end of the season

joey porter called them paper champs

after that the defense dominated the playoff run

brad johnson was better than dilfer but they dont win without the d hitting that gear
