Is Detroit(+4) a Trap?

Are the Eagles good enough to give 4 on the road or is the hype of Stafford injury and Vick? Lets not kid ourselves and think Stafford was ever any reason you would bet on the Lions. I think their D is improved and CJ and Best are studs. Any QB can come in and throw it up to CJ. Vick is amazing running the ball but if the Lions shut that down, is he still effective as a passer? Would think it would be a close game but I was SOOOOO wrong on every game i touched in Week 1, Philly will probably blow them out lol

Thoughts?

Personally this game is not going to be a play for me. First ,I don't trust M.Vick as a passer and 2nd the Bears really should have blown out the Lions last week despite the incomplete pass at the end to Cal Johnson so really the score looked closer than the game really should have been . If I had to chose a side I would go with Philly because Hill is a bad qb ,worse than Vick.

As a Lions fan, I was really impressed with our D line and their ability to get pressure on the QB. Cutler put up decent numbers, but 90 of those yards were on one play of blown coverage.

That being said, Vick scares me a lot because of his mobility. Our linebackers are the weakest part of the D, he could get a lot of yardage on the ground.

The lions are terrible. And without their QB , they are really terrible

Vick on the other hand, looked really good.

I have too go with Philly

With the way Vick played against Green Bay showing his form from Atlanta, I am strongly leaning to taking Philadelphia.

Detroit's Defense has improved big time. Make no mistake about it there defense is strong this year. Not Jets/Ravens strong but there Defense this year I would rate some place in the top 10. Here is what the issue is, without Stafford they have no offense. So if Stafford is not playing taking Philly to cover is not a bad wager at all.

Detroit without Stafford (That is saying Stafford is not playing Sunday): They will be working hard all week in training camp to get one of there back up QB's to work on there passing down the field which is great, but it will not be good enough for Philly's Defense. Lets not forget the birds have a D as well.
Lets face it a NE, GB, NO type of team will make scores happen Vs. any team no matter how bad ass the Defense is. Detroit's offense WITHOUT Stafford DET will not do much Vs. Philly.

Also I see a lot of talk of VICK in this thread, the Philly coach already reported that Kolb will start on Sunday (source ESPN on Monday if I remember correct) You know they will use VICK as well. I personally think Vick looked real strong, I also think he is a way better passing QB then Kolb is.

Some Stats From Sunday

PHI Total Yards: 321
PHI 1st Downs: 16
PHI 3rd Downs: 5-13

DET Total Yards: 168
DET 1st Downs: 13
DET 3rd Downs: 4-14

I strongly feel PHI will take this game SU on the road Vs. Detroit if Stafford is not playing on Sunday. Philly is 5-0 SU Vs. Detroit Since 1995 winning by an avg score of 35-19. Detroit is tough on the run but allows the pass still.

My prediction Philly Wins 17-10

Philly By 7

The Lions running game was far from impressive, the offensive line is what I feel is the weakest part of the team. i think Hill can do an ok job if they can give him some time and also open some holes for the running game.....big if though.

Think this game will be a lot closer than what most people in here think. The Lions aren't going to win a lot of games, but they have added a lot of solid veterans and will be competitive. The D line should be able to pressure Kolb, will be a fun game to watch if Detroit can do anything offensively.

stafford injury along with vick providing a spark
in the 2nd half vs gb would think many would go eagles...

but, i think the lions win su
best should find some running room this week
and that should open up the passing game
look for CJ to have a big game as well

Vick stepped in as a starter while playing at home against a big favorite to win the NFC....he played with adrenaline and poise knowing he had a chance to get his job back. Sunday, he'll be playing in Detroit against a team that lost their starting QB and a crowd base that has probably given up already due to that. The environment won't be the same so I look for a team like Philly to play a little soft and allow Detroit to hang around. I could see a late turnover (pick 6) leading to a cover but I'm going to stay away due to the lack of hype on this game......

Prediction: Philly 23 , Detroit 17

Kolb will not start as he failed his post concussion test today and will not practice til fri if that at the earliest. Vick getting all the reps and getting the gameplan. I hate vick think he is overrated but if the lions are forced to win throwing the ball they will be beaten up. Det needs to control the clock and for best to have a big game.
