Different slant on the Favre debacle

Their's so much bashing and defending of Favre out their......just thought I would share mine, seeing as I am a huge Packers fan and have seen virtually every game Favre has ever played. I think I have a different slant on everything as well.

First off, don't confuse Packer fans with Brett Favre fans. All these idiots wearing Green and Gold up here in WI who say if Favre goes somewhere else, the would root for another team...(Even if he played against the Packers).......these people are not Packer fans! They are Brett Favre fans.

I've been a Packer fan since the days of Lynn Dickey and Randy Wright when I was sitting on my Dad's lap and listening to him and my uncle shout words at the TV that I had never heard in my life. I appreciate everything Brett has done for this team, but we don't need him anymore. The Packers were around a long time before Brett Favre, and they will be around after he is gone. He is still a good QB in my eyes, but he is hurting this team with all his drama and if the Packers don't take a stand right now, he will be pulling this BS for the next few years....you know he will!

The team comes first in my opinion, and I am sick of Favre and all his BS. He was a great QB and an even better competitior. All these people that bash him and say he sucks, they have never watched him play that much and make incredible plays out of nothing. Yes he has sucked at times too (Especially in the playoffs), but I have never seen a QB more exciting to watch. It's just a shame he is going out like this. A damn shame.

That being said though, I do think it is pretty funny watching this baby make a fool out of himself. Just remember when you see him on TV, everything he did he brought on himself. He will always have a place in my heart for his talents and the 1 SuperBowl he did bring us.....but on the surface I believe he is a jerk and a very selfish person in real life.

The problem these people up here in WI have is they can't seperate the man from his talent. Just like an actor or singer...you can't like their talent and then dislike them later for finding out what their political stance is or something they did in their personal life. Appreciate what they do for entertainment purposes and leave the personal side out of it. That's just my opinion.

Bring on Aaron Rodgers......and Favre I do wish you luck wherever you go.

I just wanted to start this thread to see if anyone else agrees with me, whether you are a Favre fan or not. Leave the personal side out of it and look at athletes for what they are. Entertainment purposes. Just like an actor or singer. Most athletes due appreciate the fans, but they could give 2 rips about you or your views on them personally. Don't think of these guys as your buddies or your family. They are athletes putting on a show and you should appreciate them for their talents and not get so upset when they make a fool out of themselves.

Sincerely,

Packers fan since birth!
