Question Does this surprise you about Jeff Fisher?

He's been head coach of the Titans for 16 full seasons.

He has had a winning season in 6 of those 16 seasons.

Fisher is one of the more respected coaches so yes, I did find that number surprising

They were discussing on SVP yesterday. What are your thoughts?

Is he one of the top coaches? And if you think yes, what do you think about that number?

16 years...whoa, didn't realize that long a tenure. Think his recent success lends to perception over reality that he a strong coach, as 6 of 16 winning seasons paints less than a glowing result. Could be variables, but in the end, the numbers speak volumes.

Yes, I think Jeff is a Top Coach. I get to feel his intenseness when he paces back and forth on the sidelines. He's very much involved in every play.

He still looks like a Phys Ed teacher. He's the type that he does some of the actual physical training with his players.

So that means He fits the job description to a T.

...now, about his record it's still not bad considering the QBs he's had. He faces Manning twice a year. One of the most difficult Division to Win in and try to beat the Colts. JAX hasn't been easy on them in the last decade either. And HOU still rebuilding and starting to show some grit this regular season.

The AFC still rules though.

Does he become a better coach if I say he only had 5 losing seasons in 16 years?? Sounds a lot better and also true.... I think he is a very good coach who has never had the best team in the league talentwise, but whose teams always outplayed their ability....I don't know what else you attribute that to but the coach....any players leave Tennessee and have the same or more success than they had there?

Not really, coaches just like players get these reputations about them that may or may not be true. They really just pick up steam and go from there...

Can't win the big one, good coordinator but not a head coach, etc. Once a coach catches one of these reps it's pretty hard to change the general public opinion on them

I like Fisher alot, but i am surprised by that record of only 6 winning seasons. Although he has been stcuk with Vince and Collins for the past 4 years.

He is a good coach that hasn't necessarily had the talent to work with for those 16 seasons. I think he's earned his rep, but drafting/trading another QB will be what makes or breaks him now. If this next guy doesn't produce, Fisher's tenure will more than likely be over.

Then he'll land in another city as a coach like 5 minutes later lol
