Dolphins news

I know we have a handful of Fins fans like myself, Chris, Jack, Noles and a few others, so instead of like most others nowadays and making a new thread for each move, we could put all Dolphins here.

But Shefter is reporting that they cut Gibril Wilson, Joey Porter and Akin Ayodele.

Obe everyone knew Porter was gone, and Gibril was just a disaster signing last year, but im a little suprised about Ayodele. He was decent and with them being weak at LB, to cut 2 at once is why. Heres hoping they get Dansby

Aydole underachieved I think. The whole linebacker crew kind of stunk. I wonder if Crowder could get cut because Irleand said a few weeks ago that he expected both Aydole and Crowder to improve this year and now they cut Aydole

Supposedly they are meeting with Dansby right now

Purdue grad that just hasn't shown the potential we all thought he'd have in the NFL....I'd still take a chance on him.

Yea Jack, I heard they were the 1st to meet with him, but he's gonna want a boatload of money. BUt they need a guy like him.

And I cant stand Crowder, he is awful. Cant make a play for his life. Id Ayodele over him or get rid of him too.

Dolphins sign Dansby

MIAMI -- The Miami Dolphins released two linebackers Friday and successfully courted a third, Karlos Dansby.

One of big prizes on this year's market, Dansby reached an agreement with Miami on a five-year deal after visiting the Dolphins in the opening hours of NFL free agency, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Dansby's contract is worth $43 million with $22 million guaranteed, according to the source, which makes him one of the highest paid inside linebackers in the game.

Porter was unofficially let go during super bowl week after he said on JRIB that he wanted to be released if he wasn't going to play, he was tired of splitting time

Sweet that we got Dansby. I sure don't want a past his prime free agent WR even though we need a true go to receiver. If they couldn't steal B. Marshall in a trade, I hope they can work something in the draft to get a big sure handed franchise receiver.
