Double Digit Spreads and Your Team

Around lunchtime today I started this with a general idea of what I was looking for. 7 hours later my eyes hurt and my brains fried and I can't for the life of me remember exactly what angle I was looking for. But I have all these numbers so I'll pass them along and maybe someone will see something that appeals to them.

I've pulled every game since the start of the 06-07 season all the way up to last weekends games that ended with a double digit spread. There are games that either crossed double digits or started out as such but at gametime were not. I had to use the history at wagerline because honestly I don't know where else to find them. Someone will probably tell me this ot that site already has all that laid out for me. If you are that person zip it, I'm contributing here.

I'll be honest when I thought of doing this I never imagined how many games would qualify. There were a few surprises along the way too. Like without looking can you name the team with the best record as a dog against a double digit line?

Ok so here are the results team by team. Once again double digit at gametime and ONLY since 2006.

[B]Buffalo[B] They are 0-1 as a favorite. They are 2-3 as a dog.

New England They are 8-10 as a favorite and have lost straight up 3 times.

Miami They are 0-1 as a favorite. No shocker there but they are 5-1 as a dog including 2 outright wins.

NY Jets They are 1-0 as a favorite. They are 2-1 as a dog with an outright win.

Baltimore They are 1-1 as a favorite and 0-1 as a dog.

Pittsburgh They are 2-2 as a favorite and 0-1 as a dog in this spot.

Cincinnati They are 2-1 surprisingly as a favorite and 1-0 as a dog.

Cleveland They are 1-0 as a favorite and 3-2 as a dog.

Tennessee They are 5-2 as a dog with 2 outright wins.

Jacksonville They are 2-2 as a favorite with an straight up loss. They are 1-0 as a dog.

Indianapolis They are 3-6 as a favorite and lost 2 of those outright.

Houston They are 2-4 with a straight up win.

Denver They are 0-4 as a favorite with an outright loss and 0-1 as a dog.

Oakland They are 4-7 as a dog.

San Diego They are 3-5 as a favorite with an outright loss and 1-0 as a dog.

Kansas City 4-0 as a dog.

Dallas They are 5-6 as a favorite and lost outright 2 times.

NY Giants They are 0-3 as a favorite but 2-0 as a dog with an outright win.

Washington They are 0-1 as a favorite but 2-1 as a dog with a straight up win.

Philadelphia They are 1-1 as a favorite losing one outright. They are 2-1 as a dog winning one straight up.

Green Bay They are 2-0 as a favorite in the spot but 0-1-1 as a dog.

Minnesota They are 0-1 as a favorite.

Chicago They are 1-3 as a favorite in this spot with one outright loss. They are 3-0 as a dog with a straight up win.

Detroit 3-1 as a dog with a straight win.

Tampa Bay They are 1-0 as a favorite and 2-3 as a dog.

Carolina They are 1-0 as a favorite and 2-2 as a dog with a straight up win.

Atlanta They are 2-1 as a dog.

New Orleans They are 0-2 as a favorite with an outright loss.

Arizona They are 1-1 as a favorite with an outright loss. They are 2-0 as a dog with a straight up win.

San Francisco They are 2-4-1 as a dog with a straight up win.

Seattle They are 1-0-1 as a favorite.

St. Louis They are 2-0 as a dog with a straight up win.

There have been 90 games since 2006 with a double digit line. This kind of surprised me. I would have thought there were fewer games that qualified. The favorite has covered only 34 times in those games. There have been 2 pushes. The dogs have covered 54 times winning outright 16 times.

In the first part of this season there have already been 5 games of double digits and the dogs have covered all 5 winning 2 times outright.

Papowski I'm sure it's out there but I don't know what the sites are. Like with this I went to wagerline and pulled there history schedules and did each and every game individually. Whole lot of work doing it like that. I am sure one of the mallers knows where that stuff is already compiled.

yeah ill try and do that if no one has a website for it..the reason i'm asking is because we know that at best a team goes like what, 10-6 ats? its nice to see which teams have covered every spread so far and which have covered none. that way you get to include chance into your capping

Did you look into if the team was home or away? Could be another good criteria.

I have all that info. I put everything on an excel spreadsheet but you can't transfer data from there to here without it getting all jumbled up. Atleast I don't know how. Copy and paste transfers but doesn't keep things organized.

One thing I did notice I just didn't do the breakdown was how often these games stay under the totals. I was gonna work on that when I can see straight again.

So far this season the dogs are 5-0 and now have won 3 games outright.

It's shown as a quote but the updated changes are in the results above.

All of the double digit ATS records for each team since 2000 are in Steele's Pro Football Guide. You'll have to look in each season's results to see if the dog won SU. He has the ATS records as dog and favs for each team. I'll look something up for you if you want......
