Draft Updates..

"Hot off the Grill" updates from the NFL Network..

1) OT Andre Smith is rising and may go to St. Louis at #2 instead of Jason Smith.

2) OLB Aaron Curry is falling and may not go in the top 3 anymore. Apparently, teams are worried about him because he's a Sam-Linebacker who doesn't run the passer on 3rd down.

3) WR Jeremy Maclin is falling because he didn't run a 4.3 40.

4) DE Tyson Jackson is quickly rising and is being talked about at #3 to KC. Analysts brought up the fact that KC only had 10 sacks last year.

5) Washington is shopping Jason Campbell (possibly to NYJ) so that they trade up and take QB Mark Sanchez.

6) The Cleveland Browns said that WR Michael Crabtree had a "diva attitude" and was not a very nice person to be around.

That is all so far.

1. risky choice

2. perfect fit for a 3-4 defense

3. straight line recievers bust anyway, hayward-bey is in trouble

4. jackson was underrated the whole time but too much of a reach @ 3

5. they need to get into the top 5 1st or get this campbell deal done and use those picks to package. ultimately i think they dont get sanchez and they are stuck with campbell

6. talent wins, nice guys dont

alot of info being said the next couple days is going to be complete bullshit to bait teams into trading up

That's what confused me about the report too. Tyson Jackson is the perfect 5-technique DE for a 3-4, but he's never been known as a sack guy.

Cleveland executives said he had a "me first, i'm the best" attitude. I like a player with some swagger, but apparently Mangini doesn't.

Mel Kiper's newest mock draft has this:

#1 - Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia
#2 - Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
#3 - Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU
#4 - Mark Sanchez, QB, USC
#5 - Aaron Curry, OLB, Wake Forest

Oakland is now taking OT Eugene Monroe instead of Jeremy Maclin

i heard people in the media bashing him because crabtree said "im going to be great, people expect greatness and i plan to give them greatness"

i mean wtf is a top 10 draft pick supposed to say "oh, well i guess ill be pretty good i hope i can succeed"

the media is ridiculous

Crabtree is immature. He is going to cost himself money. There are ways of showing that you are confident in your skills without boasting about how great you are going to be. It makes me think that his injury is more than has been reported, and he is desperate to go as high as he can.
