Post early MNF Preview & Pick (before possible line drop)

It’s Week 6, and I still don’t know much about the Chargers. Their quarterback is great; so is their tight end and top receiver. But we knew this before the season.

San Diego’s pass defense looks overrated and a once-fearsome front seven has slowly decayed under Norv Turner.

Everything we thought we knew about the Broncos before the season was wrong. A comedown from their win over the Patriots seems natural, but it shouldn’t be hard for Denver to get up for a game against their biggest division rival tonight.

More importantly, it shouldn’t be hard to run against San Diego’s rush defense. When this game comes down to situational football in the fourth quarter, i already trust Josh McDaniels more than Norv Turner.

The way Denver is playing, it's difficult to take a stand against them, especially here, with the inept Chargers, who have a history of blowing big games.
San Diego's strength is in its passing game, but that's also where the Denver defense has excelled, so this one could actually turn out to be not very close. Denver has defied the skeptics all along, and until somebody beats them, the only way to go is to take them, especially getting points.
San Diego has had the bye week to regroup and try to heal up, the defense really misses Williams though. Denver keeps winning and the defense is playing at a very high level, the offense seems to be just good enough, doing what it has to.Being home will be an advantage to San Diego, but do you really want to give 3 1/2 points to a team as red-hot as the Broncos?

The Chargers will be a test to see if the Bronco’s defense is for real, because they have averaged 39.5 PPG vs Denver in their last 6 meetings. How good are the Broncos? Tough question; they started the season with a lucky win at Cinci, then beat Cleveland and Oakland, not so impressive. The last 2 weeks they scored home wins over Dallas and New England. Their defense played well in both games. The Chargers at 2-2 are off to their usual slow start, having lost 3 of their first 5 both previous seasons under Norv Turner. Rivers is a great passer, but the San Diego running game has yet to get in gear, and their defense has just been average, with only 6 sacks so far. Although this is a potential letdown spot for Denver, on the road after back to back upset wins at home, this is also the only rivalry left in the AFC West, and 3.5 points looks good.

Denver+3.5
