Early Strong Plays Week 5

Getting in early the last couple of weeks has worked for me so im going to continue until it stops. Here are 2 that stand out early:

Carolina -3.5

Putting all my Carolina bias aside I don't see how they lose this game. They too come in fresh and off a bye week. If they want to make anything of this season it starts on Sunday. This game against Washington kicks off the first of 3 very winnable games for Carolina. At home against Washington. At Tampa Bay and back home for Buffalo.
Carolina has struggled to establish the run this season, which was there strength last season. Deangelo Williams is still averaging 4.5 yards per carry but because Carolina has been playing from behind in most games they have had to abandon the run.
They will establish the run often and early against Washington and this will be Williams and Stewarts break out game. Delhomme might throw an interception but he won't have to throw it as much as as in previous weeks as Carolina will pound the running game.

Washington has to be one of the worst 2-2 teams of all time. If they had played Carolinas schedule (Philly, Atlanta, Dallas) or anyone half decent for that matter they would be 0-4.
They come into this game after just sqeeking by Tampa Bay 16-13. The week's before they just scraped past St Loius and then proceeded to lose to Detroit. Washington catch Carolina in a tough spot here. Sure both teams have been struggiling big time but ill take the home team that is desperate to get a win and coming off a bye. Carolina wins this game by more than a touchdown.

Atlanta M/L

I thought most people would be on Atlanta in this game but the general consensus I see is most people taking San Fran.
Yes the 49ers beat the Rams 35-0 on Sunday but it wasn't as lopsided as you would think. The 49ers only held a 7-0 advantage at half time and had trouble moving the ball most of the game. They finished with only 50 yards more than the Rams and only scored 35 because the Rams are useless and killed themselves by having over 70 yards in penalties. They also turned the ball over 3 times. 2 of which were returned for touchdowns.
Atlanta comes in off a bye week and had all last week to prepare for this game. They will come in fresh and focused and should have no problem scoring the ball and getting enough stops for the win.

Basden with you on Carolina. Just don't see how they can not win by 7 or more. The Skins can not score and can't stop the run. Seems like a recipe for disaster. To top things off this week Vinny Cerrato getting Sherm Lewis as an offensive assistant. The local espn affiliate in the area interviewed Sherm and he stated that he received a phone call from Cerrato right before he was set to call a bingo game at the senior citizen center. I am no expert and I'm am 100% positive Lewis has forgotten more of the west coast than I will ever know but he this is the solution to open up the Washington offense.

Really dont see how they don't win. All those factors plus Beason calling Peppers out in the media. Will hopefully light a fire under Pepper's ass.

Deangelo Williams is going to be a man possesed on Sunday. For wear pink day in awareness of breast cancer. Williams mother nearly died of breast cancer (3 aunties have died already of it) and they will be showing a video of him pre-game speaking about his mom and the cause. Says it means the world to him and he will be a man possesed.
