ESPN signs Jon Gruden to 5 year extension
Sure there may be an escape clause or two, but long extension
My favorite guy on the whole network, so happy as a viewer Oct 17, 2011 - Former Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden is going to be extending his stay on Monday Night Foobtall for a while. ESPN announced on Monday that the two-time Sports Emmy Award nominee has signed a five-year extension with the broadcaster. The new contract begins in 2012 and will keep Gruden at ESPN until at least 2016 Not long after leaving the coaching profession, Gruden signed on with ESPN in May of 2009. He replaced Tony Kornheiser on Monday Night Football the following fall, and is currently in his third year as an analyst on the program, alongside Mike Tirico and Ron Jaworksi. Gruden's job performance has generally been regarded as good by fans, with the vast majority of people seeing him as an upgrade over Kornheiser and a massive upgrade over previous ESPN Sunday Night Football analyist Joe Theismann. Gruden has also been used on coverage of the Pro Bowl, NFL Draft, and college football.

Ugh. No way. I hate Gruden. He "loves" everyone. Everyone is "special". I figured he'd be back coaching soon so I wouldnt have to hear him for long. Sh*t.

I love him as much as any analyst in football. However, if he says "Jaws" one more time, I may jump out the window lol. I think he says it about 150 times a game, and if you had a drinking game, you would be drunk by halfway through the first quarter.
