There is no such thing as overpaid right now, If you got the cap room go for it. wait until the cba is up, the salary cap (if there is one) will be nothing like it is now.

Its money tied up when Alan goes down. They may have room but if they only get two more years out of Alan then the money is wasted. 31 is not young for a lineman. 5 more years ???? I question the time.

The problem with overpaying is that you are putting all of your eggs in opne basket. This was a poor signing. Way too much money for an old player. The Jets need tons of help, not just 1 player.
