Favre Playing In 2008 ?

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Brett Favre has told coach Mike McCarthy that he has thought about playing this year.

This follows up a Mike Lombardi blog post along the same lines. The comeback talk is reportedly only in preliminary stages, but Favre's family is encouraging him to play. Cornerback Al Harris says Favre told him he still "has the itch" to play. This situation could turn thorny. The Packers own Favre's rights, but we'd guess that the front office would simply rather move forward with Aaron Rodgers. The coaching staff may lean more towards Favre.

This is rediculious

Come on now. Don't freakin' cry baby on national tv and say you don't have it in yourself anymore to go through the riggers of training camp and all the things necessary to get ready to play professional football and then decide you have the itch to come back! Come on! I've lived in GB for nearly 10 years now and If he didn't go the the superbowl last year, it isn't going to happen. I work at a private country club and used to see favre once in awhile. One time I was finishing up a round at the club and he was just starting to get his clubs on his cart. One of the members saw him and persuaded his little kid to run over to favre and get an autograph. Favre saw this and as the kid to run towards his cart favre began to pull away. Once he knew the kid was too close to pull away for good he stopped and looked disgusted that he had to sign another autograph. I was like, "come on, you are a hero to these people and you are disgusted when someone bothers you for your signiture." If he would have totally pulled away from a little kid I would have had no respect for the guy. I'm originally from Indy, so I'm a bit biased.

Seinfeld has an episode for every situation in life. I believe if Favre came back he would feel the same as George after he convinced Susan to get back together with him, and soon regretted it when he was walking up the stairs to her apartment...

You mean to tell me that his family wants to get rid of him already? This guy is nothing more than a glory hound. What is he going to do. Come back after the two a days are over? I guess that has worked before.
