Favre still the Greatest

Singlehandedly turned around a 4-12 team into a 9-7 contender. Also named to the pro bowl again. Obviously the Brett and the team struggled down the stretch, I'm sure there was something wrong with his shoulder but like the consumate team player and hero that he is he tried to play through it to help his team win.

If you compare the packers season to the jets season it's obvious who the winner in that trade was. Brett had no time to learn the offense, was working with limited offensive weapons, and still had this team at 8-3 with huge wins over NE and Ten. I hope that he returns for another year because it is an honor to watch the greatest football player in history in action.

Face facts, the man is an off the cuff genius who threw 6 td passes in one game, made the pro bowl for the gazillionth time, and still looks great in a pair of wranglers.

Deal with it favre haters

I admit, I do enjoy watching him play. But he's certainly not the Gunslinger of old.

It is obvious that the Packers were the winner in that deal. Farve is finished. He can not last a year in the NFL any more. He is not even close to being the greatest football player of all time. Not even close to being the greatest QB of all time. His biggest plus was his longevity, but he only has 1 Superbowl to show for it. The Jets lost 4 out of their last 5 games. In those 4 losses, they scored 17 or less points in every game. The loss at Seattle was inexcusable. Where was Farve when they needed him?

2 td's and 9 interceptions the last few ballgames. 3 points against Seattle in the snow which was one of the reasons they got him....to win those types of games. I'm sorry but his play the last few weeks was putrid and he should be embarrassed enough to retire.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan but that performance down the stretch was really bad!!

He couldnt hold Montanas jock, elways, or many others. it was good to see him come up big for the jets

Favre is far from the greatest, but I think his legacy would have been a better one had he just retired as a Packer and not played this year.

**** the packers, I hope Favre pisses on ted thompson and is enshrined in the HOF as a New York Jet.

No one player has done more for a franchise than Favre has done for the packers, and they threw him away like an old shoe so that Thompson could keep receiving his nightly blow jobs from cake boy Rogers.

You reap what you sow pack, congrats on a stellar 6-10 campaign!!!

all I need to say is look at his QB rating over the last 5 games. Favre was great in years past, but not in 2008.

Single handedly turned the team around? Hardly. The Jets aquired impact players Kris Jenkins, Alan Faneca, Calvin Pace, and Damien Woody in the offseason while doling out a ton of cash.

I'd say Favre single-handedly erased the Jet's playoff hopes and played a huge part in getting Mangini fired.

Does anyone in here think that Farve should continue to play? I know his family wants no part of him 24/7, so they talked him into another season, but enough is enough. This guy can't toss a tortilla or pizza dough in December any more. It's time for him to sail off into the sunset.

If u r basing ur arguement that favre turned a 4-12 team around so he is great than Chad Pennington is headed to the Hall of fame 1-15 last year to 11-5. FAVRE LOST DOWN THE STRETCH AGAIN AS USUAL

At least Favre came through in the clutch at the end of the season, LOL. Only QB in NFL to throw 20+ INT's this year, LOL. Not in the class of the Unitas, Elway, Montana, Marino, Brady, Mannings.

Yeah, that was exactly the "argu (e) ment" I was making. Although I guess I shouldn't expect rudimentary third grade spelling abilities from a philly fan. This year was just another testament to Favre's greatness, as he turned around a flopping franchise into a contender despite being 39 years old and having a month to learn the offense.

I love the idiocy of favre bashers, "lost down the stretch again as usual." You mean like last year when he was second in the MVP balloting and took the youngest team in the league to within a play of the superbowl? Yeah, what a choke artist...

If you really want to look at consumate chokers, you need look no farther than your boy Donovan McNabb. How many NFC Championship games can a team lose? But at least McNabb has a superbowl ring to keep him warm at night... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Like Favre said in the press conference, he has all the records, good and bad. No one will ever break his consecutive game streak, he is an Iron Man who has personified greatness since he first stepped onto the field as a Packer.

Favre is a legend, McNabb is a party joke. Deal with it dude.

You should see a Doctor about your problem. Farve took Green Bay to within one play of the Superbowl. And what was that "one play"? A perfectly thrown INT. in overtime. This year Farve singlehandedly cost the Jets a shot at the playoffs with his terrible showing in December. 1-4 in his last 5 games, and in those 4 losses, he could not put more than 17 points on the board. You want to explain Seattle, oh worshipper of Farve?
