Went 2-1 in Week 1. The Texans and the Chiefs, bless their pointed little heads, won outright.

Then there were the 49ers.

At least I wasn't alone. Every year there's one team that is seen as the upset darling of the NFL season, and the 49ers were this year's version. I should have known better when Mike Greenberg picked them to go to the Super Bowl. That's a bigger kiss of death than the hot girl saying "You remind me of my brother."

Now on to Week two.

I'm probably jinxing myself, but I've generally done well on Week 2. The secret is "don't over-react". The teams you thought were good on Week one that stunk out the joint are probably still pretty good. The cruddy teams that eked out a win are probably still not good. With that in mind...

San Diego -7.5 vs Jacksonville. Yeah, I know I had KC last week, and KC won outright. But if you look at the boxscore, you'd see SD outplayed them. I think SD will take revenge on Jacksonville.

Dallas -8 vs Chicago. Dallas won't make the same mistakes at home against a rather week offensive team like the Bears. Matt Forte gained 201 yards from scrimmage against the Lions (yeah...the LIONS...in Chicago!) and they only managed 2 TD's? Feh.

Phil/Det OVER 41. I think Michael Vick is going to make Detroit crazy, and I think the Lions will score just enough points to push this over the number.

TB/Car UNDER 39. I almost never pick an under. I still have nightmares of losing an NBA game many years ago where I picked the under. The game went over by 4. In double-OT. But, every rule needs an exception, and these two pizz-poor offenses are it.
