This game surrounded by questions with neither team having had what could be called a stable or forward thinking pre-season. Doubts remain around both teams on Sunday for this NFC East match-up. The Giants have lost five key defensive players and they must be grateful that they are not playing a more talented offensive side than the Washington Redskins.

The off-season went a little bit smoother in Washington where Coach Mike Shanahan decided to off-load the troublesome Albert Haynesworth to the New England Patriots. The Pro Bowl defensive tackle never got along with Shanahan as the coach tried to implement a 4-3 defence, and they clashed numerous times last season. With the distraction of Haynesworth gone, the Redskins are hopeful of avoiding a fourth straight last-place finish.
