Goodell to cut his pay to $1 if there's a lockout.

I like this guy more and more...

Bud made 17 million last year, who would you rather have more a commissioner? I know it sure would not be Bud for me

Have zero problem with the money these guys make especially Goodell, take a look at the amount of revenues the NFL generate each year and how most if not all teams in the NFL are making money.

At $1 he is still over paid. If they have a walk out this guy failed the NFL big time. The only chance he has of getting an approval rating is to stop this lock out. If its a lock out then they should kick this phucken loser to the curb.

if you manage a multi billion dollar business, and work for the owners, 10 million is justified

as for giving up his salary, its a gesture, sure hes not going to die of hunger of course

but its PR and not a bad move

it will all some down to the proposed 18 game schedule, everything else will be worked out

but that one issue seems like neither side wants to budge on

"We play enough games. We have a system that works. Why add [games]?''

-- Steelers chairman emeritus Dan Rooney, now the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland, to a small group of reporters in Pittsburgh Friday, commenting on his opposition to the NFL discussing increasing the number of regular-season games from 16 to 18.

Rooney, because of his diplomatic job, is not a part of the negotiating committee working on a new collective bargaining agreement. But I wish he were. The league needs more influential voices of reason to challenge the cockamamie idea of adding games in an era when concussions and injuries make it obvious that more games will dilute the quality of the product.

Whats an insult to the fan? Goodell not taking pay if this doesn't get done? I like him more because of it...BUT...BUT...

If there IS a lockout, THAT would be an insult to the fan. If they are making money w/ their (Goodell/NFL/Owners/Coaches/Players) "business" (entertainment) and lock-out...PHUCK 'em all.

The fans pay for them to have a "job" by buying tix/clothing/etc. If there is a lock-out I hope nobody buys a damn thing for years. Fold the dirty bastards.

sweetleaf, i agree the players hate the idea of an 18 game season.

i heard a couple weeks ago the owners are acting like they want an 18 game season but will use it as a bargaining tool and drop the 18 game idea in order to get a deal done. (can't remember if it was ESPN/FOX/NFL Network or???)

18 games ~is all about the money,

God has made what 30 million, I think he would be ok if he never earned one more penny the rest of his life........he has made more than enough money to be well off.....then they make this big announcement```dog and pony show ,i say

Look through the smoke screen,

If Goddell fails to get this done he is a failure himself. The league says they want to protect the players but yet they want to add more games onto their schedule ? Doesn't more games mean more of a chance of getting injuried ? Just another rule like the Mel Blount rule or the Hines Ward Rule and now the James Harrison rule . Speed bumps I say nothing more nothing less.
