Henry09's Divisionals
Howdy Folks.
I was wrong about Tenn last week. They played admirably and Tenny fans should not be stressing because they will be a beast next year. They need to make a few adjustments on O but apart from that I think they will challenge Indy for the division. Props to the Chargers for getting over that hurdle (especially to Rivers who showed a little something else when it mattered). I have the Chargers futures @ +3500 to win it all so this game is huge. Not really any potential hedge possibilities yet (and prob not next week either when the pats will be giving them about 11 or so) so I have to let it ride. Anyway here are my plays and a few thoughts on the games and god damn this has been the best NFL season I've seen from a non-homer point of view, bearing in mind that I have only been following the league for about 6 years now. YTD 2-1 +3 The San Diego Chargers getting 9 and a half. I think Dungy and Manning are more than a bit wary about this one. Indy have had more time to plan - Adv Indy. Indy have also had time to cool off which means they may or may not be able to flip the switch come game time - Adv Chargers. Indy have the better head coach, no doubt about it - Adv Indy Indy have the better QB but a QB that has struggled over the years against the Chargers - Adv Indy Harrison won't be up to game fitness and might be a little bit rusty. Is he going to be able to make big plays down field late in the game? I don't think so -Adv Chargers. Chargers have better special teams and of course field positioning is always key - Adv Chargers. LT v Addai - Adv Chargers It took SD awhile to adjust to the new coaching this season however, after their heartbreaking lost to NE last season, a game which they clearly should have won, they want it more than ever. What would have been the line against Indy last year if they did beat the pats? PK? and would they have won that game? maybe. Arguably, but clearly in my mind they want it more than Indy. Sometimes when you want it so bad, emotions can get in the way however, this is off-setted by the fact that they are the big underdogs, they are more experienced and after all the have learned from last years playoffs and this years struggle, they won't be too affected by the emotion factor. IMO it actually works in their favor. - Adv Chargers. Home field - adv Indy So there you have it. The SD chargers are a force and after all their struggles I think they are ready to go to Indianapolis and make history. San Diego Chargers +9.5 -----5* Chargers +310----------1/2* The New England Patriots giving 13 How could the Jags possibly keep up with the New England Patriots? This is in Foxborough remember? Your looking at about a 41-10 score line here folks. Pats -13--------4* props to the Jags if they cover. The Green Bay Packers giving 7 You just can't deny what the Packers have done this season. Quite simply they will not lose to the Seahawks in this game. Their Home field record in the NFL playoffs if I'm not mistaken is sick. It has been a little worrying with all the Hype around Woodson and Harris being all that. But credit where credit is due. Without a good running game they are just too outmatched in this one. I'm not trying to say the the Hawks aren't a good football team. They are a great football team and that defense is sick. If Favre makes mistakes which is no doubt a possibility then they could win. And there's no denying that Holgrem knows Favre better than most. However, I just can't see it. I just can't see Seattle rasing to the level they need to in this one, mainly because I don't think it is possible for the Seahawks to get to that level right now. Not to that level they were at two years ago. Your looking at a score line of about 32-14 here folks. GB -7------------3* Anyway just my opinion of course. best of luck to all and lets hope the refs don't play a factor. peace Last edited by Henry09; 01-11-2008 at 09:49 PM. |
