How to bet the 2008-09 New England Patriots

Found this article and doubt I can say anything as to the author.

The 2007 version of the New England Patriots may have crashed and burned in Super Bowl XLII, getting beaten 17-14 by the surprising New York Giants and underrated quarterback Eli Manning, but for those NFL betting fans or online football wagering faithful who love to hate the Patriots, I have some bad news New England's semi-dynasty isn't going anywhere in the foreseeable future or at least while Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are joined at the hip.

Here is a look at New England's schedule, followed by prediction and analysis on how the Patriots will fare during the 2008 regular season.

09/07/08 Kansas City Chiefs

How many ways can you spell blowout? The Patriots win this one big. Win

09/14/08 @New York Jets

The Jets seem to play the Pats really tough every year before tanking. Loss

09/21/08 Miami Dolphins

Miami is rebuilding in a big, big way this season. Win

10/05/08 @San Francisco 49ers

The Pats' early-season schedule is pretty much a cakewalk. Win

10/12/08 @San Diego Chargers

Finally, some real competition and a convincing loss for New England to boot. Loss

10/20/08 Denver Broncos

The Broncos are tough at Mile High Stadium, but not tough enough just yet. Win

10/26/08 St. Louis Rams

Bill Belichick against Scott Linehan is a joke. I see another Patriots win. Win

11/02/08 @Indianapolis Colts

This matchup is always a thriller, but I see a Colts win here. Loss

11/09/08 Buffalo Bills

Fe-fi, fo-fum, I smell another rout for the Patriots. So what it doesn't rhyme. Win

11/13/08 New York Jets

Revenge will be on the menu for the Patriots here. Win

11/23/08 @Miami Dolphins

No split here for the young Dolphins as they fall to the Pats for the second time. Win

11/30/08 Pittsburgh Steelers

Finally, a team that can give the Patriots a home loss. I smell an upset here. Loss

12/07/08 @Seattle Seahawks

I think the Seahawks are on the decline if you ask me. Win

12/14/08 @Oakland Raiders

The Raiders have a long way to go before they can beat the Pats anywhere. Win

12/21/08 Arizona Cardinals

Yes, I am off my rocker, because I like Ken Whisenhunt's Cardinals here. Loss

12/28/08 @Buffalo Bills

The Bills are inferior to the Patriots no matter where they play. Win

New England Patriots Regular Season Wins:
-----------------------------------------

Over 12½ Regular Season Wins -140

Under 12½ Regular Season Wins EV

Analysis:
--------

I've got New England winning 11 games for online football bettors in 2008, though I certainly don't see a 13-win season for the Patriots this upcoming season. However, counting the Patriots out of anything would be foolish as I fully expect New England to be one of the very best teams in all of football in 2008.

Does the word "square" mean anything to you?

Kansas City on defense can defend against the Patriots aerial attack. Kansas City has the tough corners that can upset the Patriots wide-outs and the front four that can limit the amount of time Brady has. New England will need to run the ball very effectively to cover the huge point spread on this game.

Kansas City on offense can make use of it's running backs against New England's aging linebackers. They will need to pound the ball in order to wear down the Patriots on defense and that is exactly what Herm Edwards is known to do. Kansas City can make this one close.

Projected final:
New England 24
Kansas City 14

As we saw in the Superbowl, a good defense can beat the Pats, so look for Brady and company to score quickly and often. They play the easiest schedule in the NFL. They play both San Diego and Indy on the road, so there are two likely losses. Any other losses would have to be considered upsets.

I still don't consider the giants a "good defense".... Their d-line just some beasts who can't be stopped, and had brady shitting his pants.... BUT I also think the pats didn't come out as hard as they needed to... tried to just get the game over with because belly knew in the air they should be able to score at will.... and they did just that ( kinda ) belly was too cocky for most the game and wouldn't give up the "big play" he killed so many drives finally he buckled down into a regular set of playcalls and they scored EASY. he made one big mistake which was not taking more time off the clock on their last drive... even still the giants really just were more lucky to score the way they did after that. So I still say Giants defense was one of most overrated defense of th year as much as I loved their dline.... secondary was always just wayyyy too weak.
