Hopefully it hurts NE more than they think.

But stupid for Oak, Just a terrible franchise. Their trading for a soon to be 30 yr old DLineman who is past his prime, and really has slowed down the last 2 years. Not to mention he is in a contract year?! Chances he signs in Oak next year?? And they give up what will most likely be a top 5 pick in 2011. Happy to see it myself cause it hurts NE at least this year, and its just dumb for Oak IMO

But hey, they like to waste 1st rd picks anyhow, so thjey prob would have drafted a bust no matter...

DA RAIDA'S!!!

Gotta love'em!!

Al Davis has gotta go. I'm really surprised with all the thug fans the raiders have that non of them have off'd him.

What a joke of a franchise!

Seymour 30, coming off injuries and leaving after this year (UFA-2010). Pats drafted and signed 3 linemen this off season, still have Warren, Wilfolk, Green and Wright.

Now they get what could very well be the number one overall pick in 2011 so long as raggedy ass Al Davis continues. Seymour was an all-time Pat great- 3 superbowls and defensive captain of one of the great defenses ever - but Pats dont stay great with emotional moves.

3 super bowl rings doesnt mean they can draft players, they just sign veterans and have a good coach + tom brady. their drafts the last 4-5 years are shit and they keep getting picks that do nothing...not to mention why did they cut oconnell and not trade him? obviously there was a market there...most overrated front office in the entire league easily

im not going to go back and forth with you when it comes to stuff like this because the whole mall knows you have to have last word, be right, and hate Boston so.....

ill take my team's front office over 95% of any other team in NFL.....enough said. they sign guys that fit in well with the system, get veterans that other teams dont want, and try to mix in young guys that they think will fit in with what they are trying to do...

anyway, their D is getting younger, faster and more athletic. will they struggle this year...yes, will there be alot of overs....yes, but they are trying to get back to what they were at the beginning of the decade and for that....

anyway, have fun debating this against everyone else here that seems to think they have one of the best Front Offices in Football if not sports

Pats usually draft well, they are usually so set they have the liberty of not drafting for need but simply the player on the board

they stole wilfork in the 1st not long ago

another bad draft pick as well

New England Patriots

[edit] 2008 season
Mayo was drafted by the New England Patriots with the tenth overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. He was signed on July 24, 2008, to a five-year contract (rather than the six-year maximum allowed by the NFL's collective bargaining agreement) worth $18.9 million, including $13.8 million in bonuses and guarantees.[3] Mayo was the only rookie in the Patriots' 2008 class to start in Week 1, and played every snap for the defense.[4]

Mayo was named the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Month for October 2008. He led the Patriots with 24 tackles for the month, including 11 against the Denver Broncos in his first Monday Night Football appearance. In the Patriots' Thursday Night Football game on November 13, 2008, against their division rivals, the New York Jets, Mayo led all defensive players with 20 tackles (16 solo, 4 assisted), the first 20-tackle game of his career.

At the end of the 2008 season, in which Mayo had 128 total tackles (100 solo, 28 assists) and a forced fumble, he was named AP Defensive Rookie of the Year for 2008 in a near-unanimous vote: Mayo received 49 of 50 votes cast, with Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Keith Rivers receiving the other vote.[5]
