I am one of those people who think the recent influence of the wildcat in the N.F.L. is here to stay. But that future is not necessarily as continual adjustments off the base wildcat look, which involves (a) an unbalanced line, (b) a runner at quarterback with the normal quarterback split wide, and (c) “jet sweep” motion, where the motion man either takes the handoff or the “wildcat QB” fakes the handoff and takes it himself.
