HUGE statistic for miami/houston

sure....miami has won the last 2...

sure...houston has lost the last 4....

miami's great run defense shut down LT....

miami's great run defense shut down sammy morris......

you just simply cannot run against this miami team...right?

lets take a look at the last 4 games...

L.T the one and only:
Rush Yds Y/G Avg TD

Week 2 (@DEN) 10 26 26.0 2.6 0

Week 3 (NYJ) 26 67 67.0 2.6 2

Week 4 (@OAK) 20 106 106.0 5.3 2

Week 5 (@MIA) 12 35 35.0 2.9 0

now mr. morris

Rush Yds Y/G Avg TD

Week 1 (KAN) 10 53 53.0 5.3 1

Week 2 (@NYJ) 8 0 0.0 0.0 1

Week 3 (MIA) 9 27 27.0 3.0 0

Week 5 (@SFO) 16 63 63.0 3.9 0

notice anything???

heres the 3-2 pitch...

LT is a averaging a whopping 66.2 yards a game on the ground with 3.7 per carry...but that number is a little inflated due to the oakland game as we have all seen LT isn't the play making back we're used to seeing...

sammy morris has accumulated 35.8 yards with a 3.3 avg..

now heres the homerun ball.....

in the games which miami lost....ny jets led by a QB just learning the offense...no doubt the 101 yds by jones must have helped...or the stellar effort of edgerrin james rushing for 55 yards and averaging 66 yards per game to set up the hi tech passing game for arizona...

see where i'm going???

ronnie brown has run over 2 teams who have had a suspect run defense from the start...while slaton continues to put up good numbers against teams like indy, JAX, TENNESEE, and pitt...

70+ yds per game at a nice 5.0 per carry...

no more to be said folks

the dolphins d line dominated teh chargers oline...the reason why LT couldnt find running room. their front 7 is legit

will depend on schaub to get things going....but keep in mind houston has played a tough schedule with its opponents combined record of 13-6..

ROOKIE Jake Long will be protecting pennington from mario williams...pennington's little dips and dunks should give schuab an edge if schuab can release the ball quickly..

dont let houstons run defense fool you...gashed for 116 yards by willie parker and then ??

key stops on 3rd downs..

maybe LT hasn't been "LT" because that o-line has been a little more dominated in the past games than you'd like to admit???

well he went for 100 almost against carolina, then got hurt, which affected him in denver as well as the jets, played better against oakland and proclaimed himself healthy for the fins, but reinjured it.

besides...his numbers are identical thru 5 games to the last 3 seasons...which were nfl leading rusher and mvp years

aside from that last typical rjb statement you made...are you further trying to prove my point?

its not that the miami run D is suffocating...its that the backs are struggling to begin with

not bashing lt...just trying to find an angle like any of us..

its just tough to say how much is LT/oline and how much was the dolphins...tough to gauge imo, but there were some holes out there to be had. line just wasnt very good last week

well the OLB shut down the outside and LT had no choice but to run inside...not the best when nursing a toe injury
