Indianapolis -2 vs New York Jets

The Jets come into Indianapolis after getting a wild card spot with a 11-5 record, Indy finished 10-6 and division winners, despite an injury plagued season. The Jets defense finished 3rd in the league only allowing 4.8 ypp, however when they travel their defense is allowing 5.5 ypp!!! That number is in the bottom 10 in the league as far as away teams. NYJ allowed only 13 ppg at home this year but 25 ppg on the road!!! That’s another number that falls in the bottom half of the league. Despite NYJ’s solid W-L record, Sanchez really hasn’t performed very well, as the NYJ rank 30th in the league in completion percentage at 54.86%!!!! With the Jets key defensive injuries of Jenkins at the start of the year and Leonard at the end, they will not be able to hold Indy to few enough points to win the game. A positive factor for the Jets, the have the league’s 3rd ranked yards per rush defense allowing only 3.6 ypc. Everyone has been praising the Colts new found rushing game because they finished the season with 3 straight 100+ yard rushing games, however 2 of those 3 games came against OAK (23rd in ypc allowed at 4.5) and Jacksonville (30th in ypc allowed at 4.7). I think the only positive sign for the colts running game was cracking the 100 yard mark in the final game of the season against Tenn who ranks 7th in ypc allowed at 3.9. I don’t see Indy racking up big rushing numbers but I do see Sanchez turning the ball over and allowing Manning extra possessions and that will be the difference as Peyton has had his way against Rex Ryan defense’s going 5-0 in games that he has played in their entirety!!! This game will be close throughout but Indy to cover with a late drive.
