Indy +3.5

Indianapolis +3.5 to win $200

The Colts and Bills face off in week 2 of the NFL Preseason schedule. Both teams got it handed to them last week, so look for a better played game by both clubs.

Peyton Manning will undoubtedly see limited time as always in meaningless games. Last week he threw for 91 yards, didn't have a pick or a td pass. He will get his team on the board tonight though.

The Colts used Curtis Painter and Tom Branstater after Manning was through. Painter was awful, throwing 3 picks, while Branstater had a pick of his own but did toss a TD pass.

For the Bills, well it was the same old cast. The Bills allowed 42 points, including 2 rushing touches, 2 passing td's, 1 for McNabb, and 1 from Rex Grossman, a 44 yarder. They also allowed a 77 yard punt return touchdown early in the 3rd quarter.Ryan Fitzpatrick led the way with a TD toss and 61 yards, while Trent Edwards went 6 for 12 for 58 yds and a pick. Levi Brown got time, and also threw a pick.

It seems as though many will play the over in tonights meeting, but I have a strong feeling this one will stay under the total. The Bills are not going to put many points up, and the Colts, even without Manning playing extended time, will compete. Indy has always played better in exhibition as dogs rather than as favorites. As a favorite last week they lost again going to 1-8-1 ATS as favorites in their last 10 preseason games. They are still lagging as dogs at 6-9 ATS over the last few preseasons. The only game as dogs they covered last year in NFL-X was as 3.5 point dogs.

The Bills come into this one 3-7 ATS as favorites in their last 10 NFL-X games. They were 8-3-2 as dogs though coming into this preseason. Colts quarterbacks will not have a repeat performance like last week, and this will propel Indy to the win.

Side notes: Week 2 is the week of the underdog in preseason NFL. Over the last 4 preseasons, dogs cover more than any other week at a 35-28-1 mark ATS. Out of the 35 dogs that covered, 30 of them won outright, meaning if you can find a solid dog, a moneyline wager would put you ahead of the rest. Look for Indy to win this outright.

Best of luck from The Platinum Standard...
