Looks like they wanted someone who knew that division for week 1. Long year for Colts fans if this thing lingers

Painter is a below average back-up, so not a real surprise. But, this is a clue that Manning is going to have a slow start.

Colts 9-7 at best this season regardless if Manning is healthy

I like my chances of the Texans if it is Collins at QB week 1, this offense is as good as it is not because of system or scheme but because of Manning, period.

Not a bad choice if he can stay sober for the season.

I know caldwell was K.C.'s QB coach at penn st and B Polian drafted K.C. with the Carolina's first ever draft pick, but why not take a shot with Carson Palmer..........wtf is up with Palmer, he has not retired yet because he wants a team to call. Is the league black ballin palmer? lol.

"ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Collins will be paid $4 million this season. That is great money for a backup, and indicative of a player that will likely wind up starting some games"..........

WOW,

Surely They could have gotten Palmer for that.

reggie wayne ways stirs the POT

“We don’t even know him, we ain’t vanilla, man, we ain’t no simple offense,” Wayne said, via the Associated Press. “So for him to can come in here and be the starter, I don’t see it. I think that’s a step back.

“Who says Kerry’s going to be the starter?” Wayne added. “Just because we bring him in doesn’t mean he’s the starter. He’s got to learn too, right? Unless they gave him a playbook months ago, he’s got to learn to.

“I don’t care who you are, I mean I’m not going to let anyone just come in here and just push someone [like Curtis Painter] aside like you’re that dog now, you know what I mean?”

This has nothing to do with Palmer. Palmer is under contract to the Bengals and the Bungles have made it perfectly clear they are not interested in trading him(right now). As far as they are concerned he either plays for the Bengals or stays quasi retired. Colts can call till their dialing fingers get tired it still doesn't make a bit of difference.
