Question Interesting timing of an article

I do think Miami plays hard for Sparano but there was an interesting article today's paper about how Stephen Ross wants a franchise QB and big name coach (who doesn't?) but my question is do you think players buy in to things like this? If you know a coach is a lame duck or a quarterback is just getting you by - does it make you play less hard? Will a player quit early?

Miami Dolphins’ Stephen Ross wants franchise QB, superstar coach to cure team’s ills - Armando Salguero - MiamiHerald.com

What's your thoughts on things like this?
