Thumbs up Jack's NFL Playoffs thread

I will post any thoughts, opinions or if I play anything in this thread throughout the playoffs. There won't be a POD, I prefer a full card of games to choose from. Right now I have not played anything but a small teaser. Just really some opinions nothing more

New Orleans at Seattle

I've gone back and fourth on this game. The defending Super Bowl champion hasn't won a playoff game the following year since like 2005. Saints are banged up and that will hurt. Running game big factor. Seattle has nothing to lose in this game. Hasselbeck is capable. But I just can't play money on the Seahawks in this game even with 10.5 points.

Here is what Seattle did at home against playoffs (& GiantS) teams this year.

lost 34-18 Atlanta
lost 42-24 Kansas City
lost 41-7 Ny Giants

New York at Indianapolis

The Colts have really looked beatable all year long but when you have Peyton Manning anything could happen. In 2006, the Colts didn't have a running game and weren't very good at stopping the run but it didn't matter - they won the Super Bowl. Jets should be able to run the ball even though they didn't do a good job towards end of the year. I still kind of think that Colts will find away in this game. Jets have had lots of distractions over the year and I think it would be fun to see the fall out. I just don't know if it's my hate for the Jets that makes me lean Colts in this one.

I played a very small teaser just to have some action

1/8* New Orleans Saints/Seattle Seahawks Over 39˝ & Indianapolis Colts +4˝ (even money)

If I end up playing anything else I will post. Good luck everyone

I'm on the other side of both, but GL all the same, Jack. Teaser's good, though. We can both win that way!

Early thoughts about tomorrow

Baltimore at Kansas City

Arrowhead is a tough place to play for any road team. Chiefs kind of had doubters all year long but somehow managed to still win the division. They were 7-0 at home before that ugly last week of the regular season against the Raiders but they knew they were division champs regardless and although #3 seed is better than #4 seed, you still don't play with the intensity of an elimination game. But are the Chiefs just happy to be here?

Baltimore is quietly 12-4. That's pretty good and since a week two "oops" against the Bengals the only losses have been Patriots, Falcons, Steelers - all close games. Also have to factor in the Ed Reed family tragedy factor. How will they respond if he doesn't play? Even if he does play, does this fire them up or is it a distraction. I think Ravens are capable of going far if they win this game.

Green Bay at Philadelphia

Which Eagles team will show up? Will it be that team with a MVP contender Vick or will it be that team that showed up against the Vikings? Like the revenge spot for the Eagles a little but still need to look at this one more.

Ya the Ed Reed factor...I heard about that when I woke up. Really hope everything turns out ok for him & his family. That could fire up the Ravens even more.

Home field advantage doesn't mean squat in this game. Ravens already have a long resume of going on the road and winning during the regular season and playoffs. There are a couple things that are weighing on my mind before I make a bet either way and they are....

The Chiefs coaching! They actually have three Head Coaches with a lot of experience in Haley, Weis, Crennel. All three of these guys will come up with an excellent game plan and get their players in the best possible positions to win. Don't underestimate their value.

Cassel! His TD/INT ratio is unbelievable, he's not going to make mistakes and he'll help steer the offense. He can scramble and athletic enough to keep plays alive.

Ravens...My biggest concern is Flacco's lack of chemistry with Boldin. You need big time players to step up in the playoffs, and something was wrong this season with Flacco and Boldin's chemistry.

Everything is telling me Ravens because of their experience, tough defense, their record, and the way they whooped up New England last year in the playoffs.

This is a hard one but if add all these factors up I think the Ravens will win because they are more battle tested from previous years and this year's schedule. KC's inexperience, young players, and weak schedule actually is going to be a problem when all is said and done.

Baltimore wins going away 31-17.
