Thumbs up Jack's Super Bowl XLVI POD

I already mentioned who I liked in this game and I have not changed my mind. I am all over New England -2.5 in this game.

I am a bit surprised just how many people seem to be on the Giants. I have heard more negative things about Tom Brady these two weeks then I have his entire career. All of a sudden Eli Manning is Joe Montana, Tom Coughlin is Vince Lombardi and the 9-7 Giants are the 72 Dolphins.

Bill Belichick doesn't usually have two weeks to prepare for a team. Tom Brady very rarely has back to back bad games.

I've heard that the "revenge" factor doesn't mean anything but I disagree. You can bet it means something to Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, Wes Welker, Vince Wilfork and any other Patriot that has any pride. The Patriots were going to make history. They were supposed to be the perfect season, the first team to actually go 19-0 (72 Dolphins played less games). The Giants took it from them on a crazy play and since this game, the Patriots lost in the first round, each of the following years. You don't think that keeps them up at night?

In the beginning of the year, the Patriots dedicated the season to Myra Kraft who died with her battle with cancer. Everyone has a sentimental story but this has gotten little play and I like this factor as well. Look I realize that every player in the Super Bowl plays like it's the last game and no one really needs extra motivation. However some things make great players do great things.

I am of the opinion that Tom Brady is one of the best quarterbacks (if not the best) to ever play the game. For two weeks, he has heard how he has happy feet, the Giants are in his head and how Eli Manning is the better quarterback. There is no doubt it my mind that Tom Brady will remind everyone just how good he is and cement his name in history as one of the best ever.

Gronk don't miss ****ing Super Bowls. Seriously enough with this. Gronk will play, will play well and will cause matchup problems for the Giants. And if he doesn't play as much as usual, the Pats will adjust. This is what the Pats do, they play with the hand they are dealt. These tight ends and wide receivers do not make Tom Brady, Tom Brady makes them.

Eli Manning is playing well but if a quarterback is going to make mistakes, I think it will be Eli. He has also been known to throw a pick when he's being pressured and the Pats defense has been disrespected the entire two weeks.

Buffalo is not the Giants obviously but I look at that first game. The Bills came back and won 34-31 and talked a lot of shit. The next game they led the Pats like 21-0 before Tom turned it on and New England won 49-21.

The last Super Bowl that seemed so one sided from a perception stand point was when the Giants upset the Bills many years ago. All everyone talked about was the Bills.

A lot of people only remember the recent game and for some reason, the Patriots are being ripped because Baltimore missed a late game tying field goal. The Pats still put 23 points on a team that plays as good defense as anyone in the league and Brady had one of his worst games ever. The 23 points was the least they scored since the Giants in early November. In reverse the Pats scored this year; 23, 45, 49, 27, 41, 34, 31, 38, 34, 37, 20, 17,20, 30, 31, 31, 35, 38. They score on anyone and everyone.

The one game that has hardly been mentioned for Super Bowl is the Giants loss to the New Orleans Saints. They could not stop Brees or the Saints. New Orleans scored 49 in that game. Granted it was on the road, but the point is if the Pats get rolling, don't think that Giants defense won't be dejected and their defense has given up the big play.

In the Super Bowl four years ago and the game earlier this year, the Giants played the role as the big underdog in both games. They played with no pressure and with nothing to lose. The role has changed and although the Pats are the favorite in this game, according to public perception, the Giants are the better team and now have "expectations".

Push comes to shove, my money will be on maybe the best QB/Coach combination in the game with revenge and pride on their mind. They are motivated and they know, a loss in this game, changes everything. Think they are talking now? What if they lose? Is Eli better? Is Coughlin better? Are the Giants in their head? Are the Patriots done?

At the end of the day, the Patriots went 13-3 and might be underrated. They toy with teams. They give them head starts and then blow them out. No doubt it in my mind that Belichick even runs it up if given a chance. I haven't heard anyone think Pats could blow them out but once they get up - the Giants will become one dimensional and I believe Eli will be forced to do a little much and will make some mistakes.

Okay I am rambling now! Pats 38, Giants 27.

5* New England -2.5

Good luck everyone

Totally agree. Everybody is on the Giants and Vegas has the Patriots favored. All those big buildings in Vegas weren't built because they lose money!

Unfortunately, the two units that are getting ripped the most these past two weeks are both on the Pats. Defense and O-Line.

Too much stock being put into NE's horrible statistical numbers on defense and everyone sees it as a foregone conclusion that the Giants' pass rush will automatically disrupt Brady the entire game. Basically slapping the entire offense line of the Pats in the face, telling them they can't block for sh*t.

The "expectations" of which you speak probably worry me the most. The Giants historically do not respond in this spot, they sh*t the bed. The only difference I see this year is that during this nice little playoff run, not only were they relishing the underdog role, but they were talking a little smack heading into each game --- and backed it up. You can ruin the "fly under the radar" status real quick by running your mouth, but if you back it up, who cares.

Had a REAL good feeling heading into the Packers game, and a good mindset heading into Candlestick. Stomach's in knots on this one. Bad sign. Only thing I can hope for is that maybe the Giants are just one of those teams that the Pats just don't match up with well and just flat out have difficulty with what they bring to the table. They've played them extremely tough the last three games and I hope that gives the GMen enough confidence to actually believe they can win when people expect them too.

Good luck with your play Jack. Just not too much.

what's belichick's playoff record after being caught for cheating.....??

tired of hearing he's the best coach, a defensive geniuis, his pats team this year has one of the worst defence's in nfl history, its pathethic.

brady is out to prove people wrong? so what, so is Eli, he does not get the credit he deserves, he is always looked at as Peytons little brother... winning this superbowl will surely cement him as an elite qb in the league if he isn't already viewed as that.

honestly, if one defence is going to make a stop, it will be the giants. The pats have no deep threat, and can't run the ball, the giants should win....

should be a good game, GL to all.

BOL Jack, seemed like I am the only one who really like NE on Sunday. The Giants lost SEVEN times this year. They lost to Washington (twice) and to Seattle. They lost 4 in a row, at one point. They have been basking in the glow of the Underdog. NO MORE!

I really think New England comes out with their no-huddle and puts the Giants on their heels. NE gets up early and makes NY play at their tempo. Eli will show that he is Eli and make a mistake or two.

Gronk plays and plays well. I even think Chad does a little something Sunday. Welker will have a big day.

Just my thoughts! BOL!!!

The records for the season mean nothing. Who cares if the Giants lost 7 games. The bottom line is that they have won their last 5 games in a row, all in crunchtime. They also avenged a loss at San Francisco. New england is on the road for the first time in the playoffs. This is the 3rd away playoff game for the Giants. So much for the "intangables". Do not overthink the game. If Brady has a great game, the Pats win. If Eli has a great game, the Giants win. If they both have a great game, so do we, the viewing fans.

I love the Patriots as well.

If Kyle Williams doesn't fumble twice, the Giants aren't even in this game.

The main reason I like the Patriots, and this is why Vegas is Vegas.....I can count on one hand how many people like the Patriots. All I here wherever I go is Giants....Giants....Giants!!!! I have talked to maybe 50 people about the game and I think 3 or 4 like the Patriots!!!!

Good Luck with your play, I am hammering the Patriots myself!!!!!!
