Jeff Fisher pulls rank

Jeff Fisher is one of the better coaches in the NFL. I have always liked his demeanor on the side lines. This time he went over the edge. The Steelers LB James Harrison slammed VY into the ground while tackling him. No flag was throw on the play. Because Fisher works for the NFL rules and regulations he asked the NFL why Harrison was fined and flagged. Amazing that now Harrison is fined $5000. Nothing at all against VY this is a general QB statement. Take the handcuffs off the defense and stop making this a pussy league. They may as well put them in skirts. In the 70's those kind of hits got you in the Hall Of Fame. I miss 70's NFL football. Fisher pulls rank, strike one

That's not half as bad as the hit that Terrel Suggs put on Carson Palmer that drew a flag.

YouTube - Body Slam

Asked Wednesday after practice if the hit was worth paying the fine, Harrison said "No!"

Steeler fans will disagree with Harrison's assessment (I think it was worth at least $10,000), but Silverback did get some good news to go with the bad: on the same day he was hit with a $5K fine, he was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week, with two sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one tackle for a loss, one quarterback hurry and 11 tackles. For all the amazing things he's done in his career, pulling off the Player of the Week/$5,000 fine combo in one day may rank among Harrison's most memorable feats.

You mean a coach asked the NFL why a play was not flagged for penalty or a player with a fine. This has to be a first!

Fisher is on the rules commish for the NFL has been for some time. He has done a great job and has supported the NFL for years. What Fisher did was ask why he was not fined for the hit. They looked at it and fined him $5000. I made this statement because I would imagine that with Fishers work he has a little more pull then your average coach. I miss the 70's take the skirts off.

I realize it looks bad on Fisher's end but he's defending his player and using some gamesmanship on an opponent and rival.........I like it.
