if he goes out and has a probowl type season this year, is he really gonna demand much more money than 12 million a season? Why not wait til after the year, and if he performs, ink him to a long term deal, at probably about the same amount per season.

instead of signing him for top dollar, for one more year, when he's unproven? I guess they want to give him 2 years to see if he's the QB of the future, instead of just one - but they are paying him alot to find out.

If they think he's already worth this kind of money, why just one year? Why not Matt Cassel him?
