Mallet could have not have gone to a better situation...

Kick back no pressure to jump right into the fire... Knows his spot going in...Aint starting...Learn from a master... Collect a check... No need to hang his head about being a 3rd rounder.. Brady would have been glad to be a 3rd rounder.. Unless hes a idiot sweet move..

Odd choice for the pats given his character issues. I really don't like the pick but whatever, he won't see the field for a long time.

There us no other coach/team/org better to deal with those issues. If he screws around, they trade him for a 2 and 3

I think it's a terrible spot for him. No chance of playing anytime soon and a kid like that will lose focus real fast.

How can this be the perfect situation for him? He went from being a projected first round, franchise quarterback to a late 3rd on a team where he won't ever see the field.

Belichick seems smarter than this. I get the feeling he's got a wink wink deal in place to trade him when this lockout garbage is over.

True but when he had fallen so far he was drafted by a team with a proven QB who lets him learn under a great Qb without the pressure of putting up on day one.. Also Brady can tell him not to hang his head about the drop as he was a late round pickup also and things worked out well.. Compared to where he could have landed IE Browns.. Dolphins ... Minny... He can be schooled by a great young QB and team.. Things worked out pretty good for Bradys last backup.. Same cant be said for the above mentioned teams.. After being passed up for 2.5 rounds he has hit the jackpot IMO..

Ill take some money to stand on the sidelines every Sunday

I keep hearing he has attitude issues or something, but who knows. He gets to learn from Tom Brady. No added pressure to get in and perform from the start. He should be feeling pretty good right now
