Marvin Lewis to return to Cincinnati Bengals for another season

CINCINNATI -- Marvin Lewis is staying as Bengals coach.

Lewis agreed to a contract extension on Tuesday after two days of negotiating changes in how the front office functions. Owner Mike Brown wanted to keep him, offering an extension last season. Lewis wanted to stay, too, but only if he got more influence over decisions.

I can only believe he has compromising pictures of the owner to keep his job once again.

This team needs too get rid of lewis and Carson Palmer.

Looks like they are headed for failure next year already.

This is one of the dumber moves in the NFL so far this year. Cincinnati keeps a perinneal loser, and Oakland gets rid of their coach, who finally led this team to a break even season. It seems as if the Al Davis-Jerry Jones disease is spreading to other owners.

Chad still miffed about being called mopey Posted by jreedy

While Marvin Lewis made the national talk show rounds on Wednesday and made it sound like Chad Ochocinco is coming back,we’ll believe it when we see it, including Ochocinco.

Appearing on Sporting News Radio with 2 Live Stews, Ochocinco still hasn’t gotten over being called mopey by his coach before the Chargers game.

Said Ochocinco on the show about Lewis coming back: “I have nothing to say about that. I’m not the owner of the team. My hands are out of that situation. The only thing I can remember, as of right now, about Coach Lewis, is Coach Lewis throwing me under the bus. When it was time to play the Chargers, knowing that I was hurt. That’s the only thing I can remember at this point.”

Ochocinco also thinks it will be difficult for the two to co-exist next year

“I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t know,” he said. “To say some of the things that have been said in the past, for some reason, when I was especially down. When you look for support, it’s always got to come from the one higher up. For the one higher up to say the things he said, it’s really hurt. I don’t see myself really feeling [that].”

Ochocinco is still trying to figure out why the team went 4-12 despite having more talent than the ’09 team that won the division. Perhaps he didn’t read Lewis’ statements on Tuesday that it was more than about talent to win.

Ochocinco and his buddy, T.O. were cancers on that team. Ochocinco cannot remember his name unless someone holds it up on a que card. What a piece of work.
