WTF

Breaking news this morning that he was new Colts HC. How could that be if he didn't accept the job, and why would he not want a HC job? lol

In an absolutely shocking move, Josh McDaniels has reportedly decided not to accept the Colts’ head coach job and will remain with the Patriots, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Colts had announced the hiring of McDaniels as their next head coach earlier Tuesday.

According to Schefter, Patriots owner Robert Kraft began talking with McDaniels in the last 48 hours, and ultimately wound up sweetening his contract as the club's offensive coordinator, helping to entice him to remain with the Patriots.

ESPN’s Mike Reiss has also reported that a “source close to situation says clarity on Bill Belichick's status in New England (Belichick is 'locked in' to coach Patriots next season), as well as stability for McDaniels' family were among the top factors for the sudden change.”

McDaniels will take over as head coach when Bill retires, whenever that may be.

That has been assumed for a while here but Bill has never hinted as to how much longer he wants to coach

Like PB said, something is going on with that organization and Bill only has 1 year left. IMO 2018 will be Belichick's final season

I think if anything, Bill told bob he wanted to coach one more year or two or whatever and Josh was told he will take over when that happens. Bill will be 66 when next season starts so I don't think it is anything funky or funny beyond that.

I think Bill is going to retire as the hc this off season and stay on as Gm. Just look at how excited he was after the championship game. Not like him. Just my thoughts on it. Why else would mcdaniels give up a hc job. But I guess there is also the question of luck having another surgery.

So, Josh McDaniels takes over when Bill B. retires after another year, some asst. coaches have signed with Indy with the thought they would be working under McDaniels. Tom Brady decides to retire after Bill B. does and what is he left with???? Good job, within 3 years NE will be a 6-8 win team.

Yup but we will have 18 years with 15 division titles, 12 Conference Championship games, 8 Super Bowl appearances and 5 Super Bowl Wins to remember. Nobody has ever had a run like that and nobody else probably ever will!

And they still have time to add to those numbers!

Indianapolis GM Chris Ballard ... "The rivalry is back on" between Colts and Pats.

Let's examine this "rivalry" ...

NE/IND haven't played past 2 years

NE is 22-7 in prior 20 years of games

NE is 7-0 since 2010

Average final score: NE 41 / IND 22
