Might as well have a Browns thread

NFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting that the Cleveland Browns will trade their 2008 second-round pick to Green Bay for defensive tackle Corey Williams. Cleveland then will agree to a deal with Williams that pays him $18 million in guaranteed money and $23 million in the first three years of the deal.

A league source tells us that the full value of the contract to be $24 million over three years, along with the opportunity to earn more via incentives.

-Run stuffing DT......check

-Two capable QBs still on the roster.....check

all thats left from here is a little more front 7 help and another reciver

-Donte Stallworth coming in for a visit

-Tennessee free-agent defensive end Travis LaBoy is visiting Cleveland.

kinda sucks were not picking until the third round, but I have no problem giving up our second rounder for Corey Williams.

still a possibilty that Anderson could get dealt, at this point I'm still on the fence as to weather I want this or not. could really use the draft picks, but alot of teams would love to have two Qbs so were fine either way.

say hello to your 08/09 AFC North Champions!!!!!!

Browns need more than just a defensive tackle.

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

no doubt, stopping the run has been the problem for the last 8 years, definately need some more front 7 help.

if the Browns do any thing else they have to be the front runner to win the division though wouldn't you think?

Steelers taking a big step backwards with all the o-line problems.

You know what, me too. I think if I had to rank them I would rank NFL Free agency higher than most of the other sports regular seasons. lol

So is Brady Quinn going to get a chance to start? I know they signed Anderson but will it be open?

Quinn's contract set up with a small base salary, and heavy with incentives, so doesn't really make any money unless he's playing, he's gotta be pissed right now. still an outside chance Anderson could still get traded, but If Quinn doesn't get to play soon I'm guessing he's gonna want out. who knows?

Anderson has agreed to a three-year $26 million contract including $14.5 million guaranteed to stay with the Browns

I have mixed feeling about the Corey Williams trade... on one hand he is a very good pass rushing defensive tackle... on the other hand, Green Bay has an abundance of defensive linemen and can really use that second round pick to get deeper at cornerback, safety, and offensive tackle

I think it is a trade that benefits both sides

Lions defensive tackle Shaun Rogers is being traded but not to the team that was first scheduled to acquire him.

After a deal fell through that sent Rogers to the Cincinnati Bengals for a No. 3 and a No. 5 pick, the Lions rebounded by sending Rogers to Cleveland in exchange for a No. 3 choice and cornerback Leigh Bodden.

D-line looking pretty solid now.

only thing I can't figure is our gm Phil Savage is a draft guy through and through, thats how he made a name for himself in Baltimore. now that we've traded away our 2nd and 3rd round picks(plus the 1st rounder we gave up for Quinn) were not picking until the 4th round. I gotta believe Phil does somthing to get back a first day pick, what I don't know, hold on to your hats.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Browns have reached agreement with Donte' Stallworth.
Terms aren't known, but it's a great fit for both sides. Cleveland gets depth and speed at wideout, while Stallworth fits best supporting player. He'll make the Browns tough to defend lining up with Braylon Edwards, Kellen Winslow, and Joe Jurevicius. His fantasy numbers should uptick because he'll see the field more than in New England, but don't expect his first 1,000-yard season.

If the packers sign Moss, I'll be shopping for SB futures.
