Mike Singletary season coming to an end

People around the local area are pushing the 49ers to kick Single to the curb. As of now the 49ers are saying that he will be remain with the team until the end of the season. My guess is they will cut him lose before the seasons end. It appears he has lost his team and the respect for Single is way down. The yelling and his big name carried them so far but now things are falling apart fast. If Single loses this next game I look for them to cut him loose. Its heating up for sure.

Good post. I have said all along that is tough guy "my way or the highway" attitude would never work in the NFL. That is fine for a D.C. or a Linebackers coach, but not for a Head Coach. The 49ers host the Raiders, who just knocked off San Diego. This is probably the worst team that the 49ers could face at this time. The big bad gang-bangers from across the bay, going to play the "Gay-Bay" boys from the land of Quiche and Wine. That is how many Raider fans and Raider players see this game. No gay bashing intended. This is what people from Oakland call San Francisco. No offense anyone. So save the politically correct talk (which is a bunch of caca anyways) for another day.

At any rate, I think that the 49ers dump Singletary by the end of the year, if not sooner. He has installed an idiots mentality to some of his players like Gore, who continues to run his mouth off about how good this team is, despite their 0'fer start.

you're pretty much talking about eras where the coaches actually had more power then the players..nowadays with the salaries and star power it doesnt work like that anymore...

Yes back in the day when you strapped on the pads for little money. Back in the day when your coach talked you listened and never talked back. Back in the day.

These arent back in the day coaches and they account for 5 superbowls recently

Jeff Fisher would be another hasnt won a SB but gets most out of his players

I may be in the minority, but I love the fire that Singletary shows. If his players would play with that same burning desire, maybe they wouldn't be in the rut they are in.

For example, look what happened when he basically tore a strip off Alex Smith, he comes back & plays pretty damn good. Throws 2 TDs, looks totally different then the buffoon who played the first 3 quarters.

I like him and hope if he does get given his walking papers, another team with a NFL caliber QB gives him another chance.

I like fire power in a coach also hell I am a Steelers fan. I heard a couple of weeks ago that its not the fire power that has this team losing. Its his lack of knowledge and his inability to manage a team.

Goop point PB and to be honest with you, there is really no evidence that Coaches have less power, it may actually be more with most of them either running or heavily involved in personnel and with the power is the cap to cut players and blame cap.

the nfl is anti star power, weak union, non guaranteed contracts

the reason he isnt successful as a coach, is probably a combination of things

but dont think much has to do with his personality

qb play is probably up high on that list
