Mike Vanderjagt update

Just a quick note along the way:

Mike returned to play in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts.

He was hired mainly for his long distance kicking. But what about precision?

In their opening game of the season he missed the first 3 attempts from 44, 44 and 51 yards. He was successful in his last 2 attempts from 49 and 44 yards.

2/5 in Game 1.

Ah yes, good point. The Toronto venue is a dome but they played outdoors in Winnipeg tonight.

(Only 2 domes in the CFL and 6 outdoor stadiums. In MTL they play outdoor in the regular season and indoor in the playoffs. Toronto is highly favoured to play in the Grey Cup game this year in Montreal--lol).

Vandy just doesn't have it anymore. He hasn't been the same since missing the kick in the 2005 Playoffs against the Steelers.

Mike went 2 for 2 in his second game at home in a dome (from 50 and 27). Looks like he found himself again.

What's funny is that he was short on a couple punts and they sailed to the sidelines...whenever he does something wrong he looks for the first teammate he can find and explains the situation...and when they leave he finds another--lol.

That's it for this thread. I'm not keeping track anymore.
