I think Brett Favre is definitely in the discussion at this point. People forget he was the runner up two years ago and was up against one of the greatest seasons all-time when Brady took MVP honours with 50TD passes.
Manning has 3 MVP's and Favre has 3 so it will be interesting to see if this tie can be broken. Historically this award has usually gone to QB's or RB's and at this point in the season, I don't think any RB is in the discussion, not even Adrain Peterson as no one is having a breakout season. Having said that, here's how the stats line up for the three contenders (IMO) at this time: Peyton Manning, 5-0 Completion % - 74% Passing Yards - 1645 Touchdowns/INT - 12-4 Rating - 114.1 Brett Favre, 6-0 Completion % - 70% Passing Yards - 1347 Touchdowns/INT - 12-2 Rating - 109.5 Drew Brees, 5-0 Completion % - 70% Passing Yards - 1400 Touchdowns/INT - 13-2 Rating - 118.4 It's gonna be close between all these guys and the team record will also come into play at the end of the season. If one of the guys has an undefeated season then they'll probably get the nod. Brady might also get in the discussion if his team continues to improve and he puts up big numbers as he gets back to his usual self (6 TD's yesterday was unbelievable). |

The three listed above are def the top contenders right now. We'll see who keeps it up.
**"Minnesota Brett's 6-0 Favre 4th league MVP pending..." **3.5th league MVP. Peeps keep forgetting he split the votes and shared co-mvp with Barry Sanders his first time.

Lets see Farve's stats after this week,
BIG BEN = MVP Completion % -72.5 (2nd) Passing Yards - 1887(1st) Touchdowns/INT -10-6 Rating - 104.5 Roethlisberger is outgaining both Manning and Brees in yardage and is on par with them in TD passes. Roethlisberger deserves mention in the MVP discussion. The Steelers have leaned on him more often this year than previously and he has persevered in the face of a sometimes questionable (although not lately) offensive line and a questionable (although now-improving) rushing attack.

Big Ben hasn't had a bye, Manning and Brees have, so that's why Ben's numbers look better
