Minnesota/Green Bay Interesting Observation

Minnesota/Green Bay - Tonight's game hasn't even been played yet and the lines for both these team's has come out for next weekend. Green Bay is favored today by -13 (less than two touchdowns) against a team that is 2-6 for the season. Green Bay is playing tonight's game at home and next weekend they host Tampa Bay (4-5) and the line for that game is -13 Green Bay. Minnesota is hosting Oakland (5-4) next weekend and that line opened up Minnesota favored by -1.5. Of course the line will or may change, but am I the only one that finds this odd?

Also keep in mind that in yesterday's observation of the Arizona/Philly game, Philly (3-5) was favored by -14 and they lost straight up to Arizona who were (2-6) prior to the game being played. In no way am I saying that Minnesota will win or cover this game or that Green Bay will win or cover this game, but why was Philly favored by -14 when they had only 1 more win than Arizona while the undefeated Packers are only favored by -13 against a team that is (2-6). Another interesting point... in the last 10 games played between these two teams, the Packers were only favored once in the double digits and that was the last game played at Minnesota (+10) on 10/23/11 and Minnesota covered.

Who knows, maybe cause the Vikings play the Packers tight?

it is crazy Fotball Head The Eagles are are nicknamed right as The dream team because thats the only way they see a superbowl is in thier dreams !

Soon as I saw that eagles benched one of thier best offensive weapons plus other players being held out due to injuries i ran and banged the cardinals

and THE JETS last Night was another sucker bet - 1 1/2 points they Beat the Bills right ?

Patriots lost to Giants at home by a full td why only favored by 1.5 points ?

JETS played like dopes and did not use the press coverage like other teams who beat NEW england !

they were letting Patriots wideouts and TE's wide open underneath and sharp shooter tommy boy picked em apart !

soon as i saw jets blow the lead in 1st half i said I lose !

some of these HC's and assistants just plain stink

Thanks LadyDawn for your input.

I did fail to mention that in the last 10 games played between these two teams...

1) Green Bay did win by more than 13 points in two of those games.
2) Minnesota beat Green Bay three times of which one of those games was at Green Bay.
3) I know those games were played with different players at different times, etc, but if we set the o/u at 50 for the previous 10 games, the Over would have hit 5 times and the Under would have hit 5 times.
4) Minnesota o/u 4-4 for the season. Green Bay o/u 5-3 for the season. Keep in mind however that those o/u were with different teams of course and the o/u was not always set at 50.

really don't think you could use statistics from Vikings pre-ponder.

Here's an interesting factoid I thought up last week when looking at this game.

Ponder is about to make his 3rd NFL start.
In hist first start he spent a week studying the packers a team the coaching staff and many players know very well. In that game they lost by 6 points and hit the over.

Then he spent a week studying the panthers and won that game on the road.

Next he spent 2 weeks + 1.5 days for bye week and monday night game studying for.... the packers.

In his (ponder's) 4 week NFL career he has spent 3 of those weeks studying the packers.

The packers are the 31st worse pass defense.

I think this stays within 13 and even like a small parlay play of minny +13 and Over.
The O/U was at 50.5 now at 49.5.
The weather will be chilly but clear.
Obviously a tease of minny +20 (21 if you can) and over 42.5 (or 41.5 on 8pt teaser) looks very nice.

***just checked another site and it went back to 50
