Question MNF 10/13 Has the 'Mall gone mad??

How in the world can so many of you be picking the Browns to cover in this spot?

Monday Night Football is a magnifying glass of sorts. Strengths are showcased and weaknesses are scrutinized. What makes you think that Cleveland will somehow pull it together and shine in the spotlight? a bye week? You can put a silk hat on a pig, but it's still a f-in pig!

Tom Coughlin has this Giants team ready and poised to take another trip to the super bowl.

Don't overthink this one. New York is a good (possibly great) football team. Cleveland is a bad, injury plagued football team.

Don't throw your money at Cleveland.

They rank 32nd, 32nd, 24th, 32nd in Total YDS, Pass YDS, Rush YDS and Points scored.

Instead of picking spots, people here enjoy just fading public perception EVERYTIME. Instead of looking for value, they just fade.

9 points is a lot of value for a home underdog, especially if the Browns are fired up and focused to play this game. They havent shown that side yet this year.

When I started betting I found allows follow the public and every single week I would lose.. I took a break and then started playing the other side and all I have been seeing is $$$

While fading the public is far better than going with the flow it still has to be done with common sense and logic ( even if it's high school real world and not college logic Gerk ) and not just whole sale public fading.

The Giants like it or not ( and I personally don't like them ) are amoung the better talented teams as well as ( who would have thunk it ) coached teams in the NFL.

The Browns certainly made an impressive run last year. They did this in part because they were.....................well........the Browns. teams figured them out they aren't taking them lightly and with the injuries on top of this they are right back where they have been for years.

Agreed that 9 points with a home team is alot to give up. If this were a divisional game or if it were a team like ( no offense to anyone ) Denver or San Diego or a current Dallas team the points would be far more attractive.

Everyone talks about playing spots. Well this is a spot for the Giants as well. They win tonight they take a commanding 2 game lead in a division that has Philly injured, Dallas on the brink and Washington who just gave everyone a little heads up warning on taking anyone lightly yesterday.

Every Monday night game thus far has been exciting. Tonights won't be. Giants roll up the Browns.

Damn I should have made my own post.

Lightbulb Something I looked into...

AFC North teams are 2-8 SU and 4-6 ATS outside of the division this season. The Steelers have covered two games and the Bengals covered 2 games.

Look Deeper!

Cleveland is 8-1 ATS L9 home games, but look closer:

ATS RECORD FOR CLEVELAND'S L9 HOME GAMES

08/09

PIT W (played in rain and only 16 total points scored)
DAL L

07/08

7 straight home covers SFO, BUF, HOU, SEA, MIA, BAL, CIN all ATS wins (only SEA was over .500 at 10-6)

if your only capping angle is fading the public you would hit about 51% of your plays

No. The mall has not gone mad. The mall is doing what the mall has been doing for years and that is giving great insight and facts to support the picks of above average cappers. The picks can sometimes be hard to stomach, but when something seems too good to be true, it usually is.

I play dogs in every sport probably 80% of the time.........One week ago Dallas was the greatest thing around, now people are saying they can't make the playoffs...Teams take it one game at a time and if you bet sports you better take it one game at a time also.........It changes from week to week, any team can win on any given day.......The teams are more even this year than I've seen in a long time at this time of the season............I Love the Dogs, give me the pts. anytime....In the end it pretty much evens out, Dogs, Favs, Overs, Unders.........Clev. may get blown out tonite BUT Clev. can Win the game...Give me the pts. as a Bonus, I'll take them anytime........GO Cleveland, I hope they lead 10-3 at the half.........We'll see, Wish you the Best which ever way you go.......We're a Team here at the Mall, we're not playing against each other.................Knockonwood !

Knock

I agree with you as I try to play mostly dogs and very short chalks. It has proven itself valuable.

I wasn't making a case to play NYG -9. I was making a case against playing CLE + pts. And some are even on CLE moneyline. I agree that there is more parity than ever in the NFL, and the old addage "any given sunday" truly applies. I see bettors over-estimating CLE still, as everyone did in the beginning of the season, and bettors under-estimating the Giants, as they did all last season. They are a great road team with 3 solid running backs, a quarterback that is getting better each week that we see him play, and talented receivers that continue to come up with big plays. I am NOT a Giants fan. But I do like money. If the final score was 43-0, could you tell me right away who won? without any other info? I'll bet you would say the Giants.
