MNF: From A Charger Fan's Perspective

A couple things to note here...

First, the Chargers defense has a few changes you should know about before you bet. Gilchrist will get the nod over Cason at CB, he's a stud, and will probably be taking on Breaston all night. But he's a rookie and there is a learning curve. I believe Gilchrist will be up for the challenge.

Second, Chargers best pass rusher, Shaun Phillips is out for the game. He will be replaced by a rookie Gamble and veteran Barnes. Gamble looked great in pre-season, Barnes is a decent pass rusher. Both are vulnerable though in pass coverage.

Third, our best offensive guard, Dielman is out.

Four, our best offensive spark plug, Tolbert is out.

Fourth, VJ, Gates, and Floyd all are playing injured.

Fifth, Rivers hasn't been the same this year and is playing way below his best.

What does it all mean? The Chargers have a lot of roster changes and injuries. They lost last season, playing the Chiefs on MNF, for the opening week of the season. Mathews has been a beast but can't carry the whole team on his back. I see a close game, but if KC can play turnover free football and keep pressure on Rivers, then the Chargers lose.

Prediction: Chiefs 27 Chargers 23

Pretty darn close, I must say.

Can't say I didn't see it coming, as a Charger fan.

Norval Turner needs to go.....
