Monday night PICK - Bears vs Lions

I love this board. Been reading/lurking it the past few weeks.

After reading a bunch of threads about tonights game I sense the following:

Those who lost yesterday (and in some cases, in a big way) are rolling with the Lions for the most part.

The safe bet sounds like teasing the Bears in some way. History says (Cutler 4-0 against the Lions, Bears owning the Lions, Bears good in prime time) the Bears are the bet but.. this isn't the same ol' Lions. This is first Monday nighter in Detroit in forever.

But why is the line so high? Im getting it at -7.

I think the crowd will play a big role at first. Should be a big advantage for the Lions. I also believe the Bears have a bad o line, have given up 15 sacks (2nd most in league) and they face Suh and possibly Fairley tonight. Hmm..

Quick look at the Bears this year: They beat an overrated Falcons on opening day. Lost to a really good Saints team. Lost to a REALLY good Packers team. Beat a competitive Panthers team.

Quick look at the Lions this year: They beat a slightly overrated Bucs team (good but not close to elite), clobbered an awful Chiefs team, beat a crappy Vikings team, beat an underachieving Cowboys team.

The one thing I've heard from fellow gambling buddies about the Lions: "They can't keep falling behind in games and expect to make these dramatic comebacks. They are due for a loss." But why is the line -7? Is it because the Bears line is brutal and the opposing big men are Suh and possibly Fairley? Can the crowd make that big of a difference? Don't forget, division rivalry game.

OK - all that said.. I've unintentionally made a lot of arguments for betting the Bears but...

Thank you. I also like the over a lot but I got burnt by an over yesterday and its still fresh in my mind. Plus, taking the over with the Bears involved is always a scary thing.

Just placed an even larger bet on the over. 2*'s on the over 47.
