Money better spent?

And people wonder why Oakland is awful every year

Javon Walker

A source told ESPN's Michael Smith on Tuesday that the terms of the deal call for Walker to receive a six-year, $55 million contract that includes more than $16 million in guarantees and pays him roughly $27 million over the first three years of the deal. The Associated Press, citing a person familiar with the contract, reported on Wednesday that Walker will receive a $6 million signing bonus and $5 million in salary in each of the first two years.

or

Randy Moss

The defending AFC champions re-signed the record-breaking receiver on Monday to a three-year deal worth $27 million, his agent said. The signing was confirmed by the team shortly after Moss posted a message to fans on his Web site.
''I'm ready to get back. We have some unfinished business to take care of,'' therealrandymoss.com quotes him as saying.
Moss' agent, Tim DiPiero, said the deal million included guarantees of $15 milliion including a $12 million signing bonus to the receiver who set an NFL record with 23 touchdown catches and helped the Patriots reach the Super Bowl in his first season with the team.

Live in Northern Cali and my friends and family have always loved the A's or Giants, Raiders or 49ers. For years now all of the West Coast teams have made mistake after mistake giving their teams no chance of winning the big prize. Over the years I have heard about every excuse you could possibly imagine. Every year the Raiders fans start off crowing about how they are going to win their division and how not one of the other teams have a chance. By the 5th game most of them are never heard from again.
All of these organizations have rather poor front offices. A lot needs to change on the West coast but where to start is the million dollar question. Kick Al Davis to the curb, 49ers should be sold back to the Eddie D., The A's should be moved to Sacramento Caliifornia where they would bring in more fans. This in turn would bring in more money which would then turn into better players. My guess is they continue going down hill.

I this a result of Oakland just being stupid or Moss taking a lesser deal to help the team.
