New to the Board.....

I have been lurking for a while and decided to go ahead and post. I am in a pick em league and looking for some advice on some of the Week 17 games.

Games I Like:

Giants + 14.5
Miami + 2.5
jacksonville +6.5
Pitt -3.5
Denver +3.5
Indy +6.5

Can't decide, need input on:

Philly -7.5 Buffalo
Cleveland -10.5 San Fransisco
New Orleans -1.5 Chicago
Atlanta -2.5 Seattle
Washington -9.5 Dallas
NY Jets -6.5 KC

I do not have the ption to tease or buy points. I haven't seen many threads on here explaining why you like certain games. I guess this is one of the toughest weeks to pick games. Any input on any games going on this week is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.....

Tough week indeed, I don't disagree with any of the teams you like. As for the ones you can't decide on, the only one that I have some sort of feel for, is the Bears-Saints game. I think New Orleans wins this game, New Orleans' weakness(their defense) doesn't play to the Bears' strength. Plus there's the revenge factor from last years NFC championship game. It should be a low scoring slugging match but I see the Saints pulling this game out.

A lot of points for Cleveland to cover, however their offense is due to breakout this week after two bad performances, but! the 9ers have looked a lot better of late. So hard to say. As for the other games, flip a coin, could go either way IMO.

Well I would stay away from the Miami game. Sure half of the team will play hard for Cameron and for Parcells who will be in attendance but the reality is this defense is so incredibly banged up and they have guys playing in the secondary that wouldn’t even play special teams on most teams in the NFL. They are truly decimated by injury and when you think that their defense is the strong part of this team – not much hope. I think they will score some points so lean towards over – Bengals will score a lot.

The Dolphins special teams are awful, the defense is one of the worst and the offense would struggle to score against a college teams. They probably do not have one legitimate wide receiver on the team and when Greg Camarillo is making all of your plays – that says it all.

Also the team is divided. You have half the team who will bring their maximum effort and try and impress the new GM, while others know this is the last time or play they will ever play in Miami.

I would love to see Miami get win #2 but I just can’t see how they can keep up score for score. I wouldn’t play the Bengals in this spot either because they have similar issues. I think over 45.5 is the logical play.

GL and welcome to the mall

You're talking me out of taking Miami, but I'm in a straight up pool so I have to pick every game. I think the Bengals Superbowl was last week in beating Cleveland, I don't see them bringing the same effort this week. Plus they're horrible on the road, beating only Baltimore(1-6 on the road)

Don't get me wrong, Miami as you're well aware of is a very bad team, but I'm going to roll the dice with Miami for only the 3rd time this year. I think like you said, some guys will be playing for Parcells and Cameron, hopefully that's enough for them to pull out a win. It would help me a lot if they did.

I have to pick every game as well....

Right now I am going with..

NYG +14.5
Philly -7.5
Tampa Bay + 2.5 (not very confident)
Miami +2.5
SF +10.5 (no clue which way to go)
GB - 3.5
Jax +6.5
NO - 1.5
Pitt -3.5
Seattle + 2.5 (again, can't pick this one)
Washington -9.5 (iffy on this one)
KC +6.5
Denver +3.5
San Diego -8.5
St. Louis +6.5 (tough game)
Indy + 6.5

I am open to changing, just looking to the more experienced Sports betters for advice.

I would take the Titans as Indy has nothing to play for, SD is your best bet, cleveland has a lot of chalk but I think they end the season with a bang, might consider switching that. Something odd about the Saints being 1.5 favorites against the Bears... are they really basing this on what the Bears did to the Packers last week because it kind of seems like a trap to me.... BOL bro hope ya win it..... oh the Giants +14.5 scares me lol

There's a few football guys such as Cptkirk who can help you out. You can check the proline section as well to see what they're saying. For what it's worth the only game I'd have different would be the Seattle game. I don't see Holmgren playing his guys all that much, but can Atlanta beat Seattle's backups, that's what I'm not too sure about.
