New England Patriots: The Glory Years are Gone
The New England Patriots quest for perfection to become only the second NFL team in history to go undefeated just two years ago, leaves a team on the threshold of falling behind the high-quality teams of the AFC. The Indianapolis Colts and San Diego Chargers clearly are the new teams with the possibility of building a little dynasty.
Officially you can add the “Dynasty of the Patriots” as completed. New Englandwill likely have respectable teams over the coming years due to the play of quarterback Tom Brady and the two great receivers, Randy Moss and Wes Welker. The New England Patriots a team so revered, they went to the Super Bowl undefeated only to lose by a herculean effort by the New York Giants. Since that defeat the Patriots have not been a similar team. While still playing some good football, they are not feared, nor have the swagger, as they were back in the glory years. Anomalous year? Maybe not but it will be an anomaly if the Saints, Vikes or Jets win the SuperBowl instead of the Colts. NEP is still a premium team no matter what.
