Hey Mallers,
I've been reading up on a bunch of you guys picks in all 3 sports for a while and decided to try my hand at posting for the new NFL season. Nothing exciting here, as I typically go for faves, but here's a couple that I like this week. All lines are from Sportsinteraction. Took the Giants at -5 last night for a nice start, however, I do realize that I can't claim that on my posted record.

Indy -9.5 over Chicago
Admittedly, I'm gambling a little on Peyton's knee, but until I can remember the name of anyone on the Bears' offense not named Hester, I'll take the chalk. Colts are at home with all their offensive weapons back and a solid defense. This should be a cake walk.

S.D. -9 over Carolina
If anyone hasn't paid attention to the Panthers for the past few seasons when Steve Smith's not on the field, here's a newsflash: they suck. Their defense should be improved with Peppers back, but the Chargers are at home and even if not 100%, Merriman keeps the D fired up and L.T. goes without saying. I've been waiting for the Norv Turner implosion, just don't think this is the week.
