The Dolphins are depleted by injuries and Chicago look set to benefit, says Andy Richmond

To paraphrase Oscar Wilde "To lose one quarterback Mr Sparano may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness" - but that is precisely the situation Miami find themselves in. With their two starting quarterbacks out of the season the Dolphins have to turn to third choice Tyler Thigpen who has limited NFL experience.
Miami also have other injury worries in various positions with star left tackle Jake Long and their main pass-rusher Cameron Wake struggling to be fit. In one way Thigpen gives the Miami offence, which is only averaging 19.1 points per game, added mobility but his inexperience and lack of practice is a drawback, especially against a strong Bears defence ranked fourth in the NFL overall.

The Dolphins have been struggling at home, where they have won just a solitary game, and seem to prefer life on the road where they have defeated some tough teams. The Bears are bidding to take a clear lead in the NFC North and while their 6-3 record looks solid they have only played three teams with winning records and two of those three defeats were suffered in those games.
