NFL to start suspending players for helmet to helmet hits

Knew it was coming after yesterday, lots of players got blown up. Not confirmed yet, though.

One unnamed player said that players put money aside before the season for fines, so I agree, suspending players and missing game checks will go along way in reducing these hits although it won't eliminate it.

Over reaction by the NFL. You can plan on more scoring due to this over reaction by the NFL. So from now on players will have to pull up if they think the hit will be to hard. The force of the hits is what brings helmets together in some cases. You can't ask players to change tackling skills in one week. Something had to be done but this is makes no sense and the NFL will now have to be a judge and jury each and every week.

Some have... some haven't, but how do you draw the line ? You can't...

Hell half the time the refs can't even get the call right... Look at the dipshit that drilled romo helmet to helmet after he was already going down... Shit that didn't even get a flag thrown... Yet they throw flags all the time on guys that playing the ball on a high speed chase in the secondary.... Never going to get these idiot refs on the same page so you just get stuck with lumping everything together.

Another good point on why they should have tripled fines and looked into how to handle certain hits. Something has to be done but this is not the way to do it. Your asking a lot of professional players in one week.
Since I am a Steelers fan I will stand up now and call James Harrison the dirtiest player in the NFL. He should be fined 400 grand and then maybe he would wake up. Don't punish everyone for certain peoples stupidity.

it's definitely going to get out of hand, not everyone is head hunting out there.....so how do you pick who is? it's easy to slip from a shoulder to a helmet in a tackle especially at game speed

i think this weekend there were a lot of INTENTIONAL head-hunting, and thats why the league reacted.

''I thought Cribbs was asleep,'' Harrison said. ''A hit like that geeks you up, especially when you find out the guy is not really hurt, he's just sleeping. He's knocked out but he's going to be OK.''

''There's a big difference between being hurt and being injured. You get hurt, you shake it off and come back the next series or the next game. I try to hurt people.''

when Harrison was asked about the 1st hit on Cribbs, his reply was "It ended the Wildcat, right there."

Classic Silverback, short and to the point.
