NFL Week 17...Who has something to play for?
Just throwing this Thread out there for the final week of the NFL and all the playoff ramifications that might determine who might rest their starters if the teams playoff position is solidified.
Pitt looks like a nice play to cover the number (whatever that might be) and it helps that the Cincy/Balt game is a 4pm game. Dall/NYG is win or go home.. so that is a nice one (leaning towards the Gints if i can get it less than a FG) Feel Free to add all week... |

Saints playing for 2 seed, Houston playing for nothing nor gb. Orton has his pride on the line in Denver. Chiefs played well the last two weeks so don't see Denver running away with it. Tough week with the added complications.

Lots o complications.
Atlanta playing for seeding (5th plays dal/nyg or 6th plays saints) Jets very small chance of playoffs but not eliminated Miami is Pitt needs it Saint fighting for 2 seed but only get that with a win and sf loss to rams. Sf wins, gets 2nd seed Need to look into more. Lions? Not sure of their seeding. Bengals not sure what they need or if ravens have their seed locked Don't forget Many are playing for their jobs. If they give up this week and are replaced they could lose their spot to a replacement or rookie. Got to show they can do it again next year.

Seems like many playoff matchups will be teams who have already played each other

With Baltimore needing a win to seal up the division, I don't see them not covering 2 points, despite their crappy road record this year. This isn't a trip out west for them, and with so much on the line, the Bengals will show their true colors.
Cincy hasn't beaten any good teams this year. They are good not great. Since Detroit is going to play their starters all game, I can't see that game not going over. Packers could score 24 in the first half alone. I'm also thinking a defensive, field position battle in Denver, so that one seems likely to go under. Houston would like to get a win to get that bad taste out of their mouth by losing to Indy. Nobody wants to lose the last two before the playoffs. |

OK for sure balty and steelers are playing ............... Texans tho locked in as #3 seed and are dogged to Titans Sehawks have nothing to play for lay the house on Cardinals final home game ............ Paackers are a DOG to Lions but i read that MC carthy says we are playing to win ???? Dolphins this year say they are playing for themseleves NOT just to spoil div rivals playoff chances .......... Patriots even tho nothing to play for still will avenge early season loss to Bills and Bardy wants a 600 yard game with 7 td passes to out do Brees ! Trust in TOMMY Boy to go full out probably win 55 - 24

I like the over in this one too, as the vengence factor, and the fact that Belichick never takes his foot off the accelerator.

boys boys boys
Pats are in YES but....need the win to secure home field through the AFC championship game. So they are playing for something!! Bengals math is simple...win and they are in!! They control their own fate. Jets forget about it!! They would need a win and the rest of the league to lose to make it. Fish BIG this weekend. The Jets have mailed it in and you can tell. Here is the info your looking for: Here's a look at the NFL playoff picture as we head into the last week of the NFL regular season. To clinch a first-round bye, the Steelers basically need a win against the Browns, and they'll also have their eyes on the Ravens and Bengals. Via the NFL, here's what other AFC teams will need in Week 17 (leaving out some arcane stuff about ties, which happen so rarely in the NFL that there's really not much need to worry about them until they happen). PATRIOTS clinch top AFC seed with a win or a loss by both the Ravens and Steelers. RAVENS clinch the AFC North and a first-round bye with a win or a Steelers loss. They would get the top overall seed if they win and the Patriots lose. STEELERS have clinched at least the No. 5 seed. They can win the AFC North and the No. 2 seed if they win and the Ravens lose. They can clinch the top seed if they win and both the Patriots and Ravens lose. TEXANS have clinched the AFC South and the No. 3 seed. BRONCOS clinch the AFC West and the No. 4 seed if they win or the Raiders lose. RAIDERS clinch the AFC West and the No. 4 seed if they win and the Broncos lose. They could also win a Wild Card spot if they win and the Bengals and Titans both lose, or if they win, the Bengals lose and the Jets win. BENGALS clinch the last Wild Card spot and the No. 6 seed with a win, or with losses by the Jets and Raiders, or with losses by the Jets and Broncos. JETS clinch the last Wild Card spot and the No. 6 seed with either a win and losses by the Bengals, Titans and Raiders, or with a win and losses by the Bengals, Titans and Broncos. TITANS clinch the last Wild Card spot and the No. 6 seed under one of three scenarios. First, the Titans and Jets win while the Bengals and Raiders lose. Second, the Titans and Jets win and the Bengals and Broncos lose. Third, the Titans and Raiders win and the Begnals and Jets lose. We're not really an NFC site, but here's what the NFL sent out regarding the NFC. CLINCHED: Green Bay - NFC North and home-field advantage San Francisco - NFC West New Orleans - NFC South Detroit - playoff spot Atlanta - playoff spot SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS San Francisco clinches a first-round bye with: 1) SF win OR 2) SF tie + NO loss or tie OR 3) NO loss NEW ORLEANS SAINTS New Orleans clinches a first-round bye with: 1) NO win + SF loss or tie OR 2) NO tie + SF loss NEW YORK GIANTS New York clinches NFC East division with: 1) NYG win or tie DALLAS COWBOYS Dallas clinches NFC East division with: 1) DAL win |

With so many teams still in the hunt for something, good money can be made.
